a good blu-ray - Blu-ray Forum

I am trying to buy my boyfriend a blu-ray for christmas. I know absolutely nothing about blu-rays but settled on gettin him a sony. While in walmart today he says he hates Sony brand due to past experiences. So now im back to the start. I have done research but most of what i have read is just confusing to me. He already has surround sound and keeps talking about a HDMI hookup..im not sure if these has anything to do with which kind will be the best..im not lookin on spending anymore than $300. The Panasonic DB35K is a great machine if he doesn't want a Sony. I just got mine last week and its a great player. You can get it for aobut $225-$250
