Thumbs down So you think you have a true 1080p TV ?

Lcd's Motion Res on 1080p sets is apparently around x600 and plasmas are around x800. so wtf? when will we see a real 1080p motion tv? this might explain the slim difference between 720p & 1080 right?

Very disturbing that Sharp doesn't have their sets configured for best picture out of the box and also that they have no way to access menu options or manipulate through them. Guess you HAVE to fork over the 100 bucks every time the remote dies or goes missing. What are manufacturers thinking?

Well my TV is on that list. I love my TV. Do you love your TV? If you do, then don't worry about it.

i already knew this, but yes it is intresting. i have no problem with it, because when the camera is in motion im not going to be able to really tell much of a difference between 600p and 1080p. its not like you are going able to see the detail in things, because the camera is moving fast (note that things get down to about 600p when the camera is moving quickly, when it is just panning it is not nearly this low). your eyes do the same thing in real life. you do not naturally see nearly the same resolution when you are moving quickly vs. being at a standstill.

what is much, much more distubing (well its actually a positive point for blu-ray) are the amounts of tvs that fail the deinterlacing test. this would be a great chart to post next time we here a FUD comment like, "1080i is just as good, because your tv naturally deinterlaces the singal) because a lot of tvs do not deinterlace properly, therfore making 1080i vastly inferior to 1080p. and just because something passes, doesn't mean that is perfect. when images get torn apart and put back together it is impossible not to lose some quality.
