Haven: The Complete First Season Blu-ray Review

Syfy's all-new one-hour drama series "Haven", starring Emily Rose ("Jericho", "Brothers and Sisters") is based on the novella "The Colorado Kid" from renowned author Stephen King. The series follows the shrewd and confident FBI agent Audrey Parker (Rose) who has a lost past, and arrives in the small town of Haven, Maine on a routine case. Before long, her natural curiosity lands her in the epicenter of activity in this curious enclave, which turns out to be a longtime refuge for people that are affected by a range of supernatural afflictions. As the townspeople's dormant abilities begin to express themselves, Audrey helps keep these forces at bay while discovering the many secrets of Haven - including one surrounding her own surprising connections to this extraordinary place.

Starring: Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant, Nicholas Campbell, Eric Balfour, Richard Donat, John Dunsworth
Studio Name: E1 Entertainment
Blu-ray Release Date: 06/14/2011
Rating: Not Rated

Does anyone know if there will be a second season? The show does look good in broadcast HD.

It was renewed on October 7th, 2010 and the second season airs later this year. I can't wait to get this on Blu.

Wait a second. Is it an all new season or a 1.5 like the rest of SCFY's shows? Personally, I thought the show was rather boring.

It's a brand new season. They aired all of season 1 in one go I believe without a long mid season break.

Never heard of this show before. Very interested in watching it. Of course, it isn't in the schedule.

Same here. I've already seen the whole season, but I wouldn't mind watching it again. The jump from Hulu to Blu-ray is enough of an excuse for me to buy this alone. It also has a pretty nice MSRP according to Walmart.com, so this should be pretty cheap on release day if they are correct.

I thought it was kind of weak at first too but when I stopped focusing on the season-long story arc and looked at it as a series of more or less independant 'Twilight Zonish' episodes it seemed to work a bit better.

Also, the second half of the season is better than the first. I liked all of the episodes, but it did seem to get better. The last few episodes were especially good.

I kinda stopped watching after the first three episodes, not that I didn't like them, I did enjoy it, but I just couldn't be bothered with it. A Blu-ray release, however, might make me rethink abandoning the show.

I have to agree with the others that the second half was getting much better.

This is awesome news I missed the first few episodes, so I didn't bother watching but ended up using some digital credits on amazon to stream the first 3 episodes in HD and liked what I saw.

With this show getting a bluray release is there any chance of Warehouse 13 seasons 1 and 2 getting released on bluray. It does have one of the highest TV ratings on syfy.
