I believe the first B2G1 sale was back on June 10, at Amazon and some other online retailers. If I remember correctly, it was such a big deal they actually issued a press release about it. Not sure when the first B1G1 was, though.

Wasn't it week of Transformers HD-DVD was about to be released? The BOGO was used to counter the effects of Transformers. Soon after that...there were plenty of BOGOs.

The reason i asked is because of this moron on Afterdawn who still think HD-DVD is getting a exclusive deal at CES which i find laughable.Read & laugh this guy is a treat & rabbit red ant.

hughjars:

LMAO

Another desperately weak Blu-ray 'win'.

They have a 10:1+ advantage in the number of players and yet they can't even manage a 2:1 lead in movie disc sales.

Hilarious.

The Blu-ray lead is only 1.56:1 - which incidentally works out to the 'since inception' number too.

It's also a fact that the BDA has sponsored over 20 BOGO sales already in 2007.

HD DVD has just run just 2 - both this month.

You'll find that HD DVD offer a pretty restricted (tho still good) selection on it's BOGO whilst Blu-ray's BOGOs have included huge blockbuster films like the Pirates Of the Caribbean films, Casino Royale, Night At the Museum, X-Men: Last Stand, and many others.
They've also included recent releases like 28 Weeks Later, The Fly, Day After Tomorrow just a mere 2 weeks after their debut.

It must be costing Blu-ray a fortune (and adding costs to an already costly format for the producers).

Only a few weeks to CES 2008.
Can't wait.

They have had bogo's almost every month of 2007 except maybe 3. And I beleive the first was Dec 2006 at the end. I am trying to remember from the list.

Including Jan, feb, march of 07 to start plus multiple bogo's during those months. It was amazing just how many they have had. So 20 Bogo's sound close if not more.

Someone from AVsforum put the list together awhile back and they couldnt find Bogo's I beleive for 3 months of 2007 and thats it

The list has been removed because of all the fighting that went on over there. So he is correct

Can't remember when the first one showed up on Amazon, but they were turning up at Best Buy as early as January '07.

I even managed to use some of my rebate coupons that came with the PS3 to get an extra $10 off, that's why I remember. It was within a couple of weeks from when I got my PS3. There would only be like 6 titles to choose from, but they ran a few of them and changed the titles a couple of times.

I seem to recall the first BOGO happening the week of Transformers, and the second the week of Shrek 3. There have been many BOGOs at various retailers since then.

The first BOGO type deal was the week that the Samsung BD=p1000 launched. Sometime in June 2006. I picked up discs on the buy two get one free deal. I every BD available to me at the time.

Fry's has had some BOGOs before that, but they're a pretty small mostly regional chain.

Transformers week was the first big one though.
