Had it from netflix for over a month and still have yet to watch it, didn't think it was an action movie. I liked The Kingdom alot but that's not much of action movie until the end

I've seen both and I have to say that The Kingdom is far better.

yeah i figured i'd get these types of responses... kingdom was more of a shooter whereas home of the brave was more of a "why war" movie

The Kingdom was only a shooter movie towards the end. Home of the Brave had its moments of war as well. I prefer The Kingdom. Luckily, I have an HD player as well so I can reluctantly purcahse HD-exclusive movies :\

I think these are 2 entirely different movies (though, I too, thought Home of the Brave would be more into the "thick of battle" until after I saw it).

Home of the Brave deals with the psychological aftermath a soldier has to deal with when he comes back home, after being exposed to combat. It is a very informative, and I recommend people to see it if you honor our brave military and wish to empathize with the issues that come before them. If you think about it, the hint is right in the title- Home of the Brave. It's about when they come Home, rather than being about in the battle.

Kingdom is about terrorism in Saudi Arabia, not the war in the ME, per se. I also enjoyed this movie quite a bit and would rank it higher than HotB in my "favorites" list (though Jessica Biel is still quite scrumptious in HotB). Kingdom is kind of like a drama/intrigue (CSI meets FBI/ATI) with a terrific action sequence toward the end. It really puts a good overview on the tenuous historic bond between the West, Saudi Arabia, and oil came to be and where it has put us, today. There are some great lines in the movie, as well. Jamie Foxx is great in this movie (he transfers his Miami Vice "Tubbs" role to this role well)! Favorite line from him for me was "Immediate as in right the F now, imediate" in a completely calm, but assertive tone.

Jeremy Pivens also has a good line with, "Hey-uh, guys? Can we turn the boobies down a few notches here?" He has an entertaining character in this movie, when he makes his brief appearances.

The ending remarks in the movie were brilliant!

Sound quality was strong in some places but a bit spotty in others. That would be my biggest complaint with the movie, even though I really do like it.

I have yet to see the Kingdom, but so far only heard good news about it.
Watched Home of the Brave the other day and actually turned it off little more than half way through... one of the worst I've seen in a while! The action scenes were alright, nothing new here, however the dialogue was horrible! A lot of one liners and definitely not the way war vets would be talking to each other... big disappointment and I am glad I only rented it from Netflix!

Well, doesn't that make you feel that much more sorry for her?...the "beauty queen" of the cast, mangled with this terrible injury?

I saw the kingdom for free at the theater & was disappoint but it was OK. I have Home of the Brave on Blu-ray & have watched it 3 times. I guess feeling in real life how the actors portray 'feelings' in the film has alot to do with it . If you haven't been there then you don't know.

Thanks!

You know in the supplementary material for TK, the director was saying they were acting and shooting these scenes in 115-130 deg heat. That's pretty friggin' amazing!
