Default Do studios check out Blu-ray.com?

Do you think Studios check out sites like ours to get different perspectives other than their own on where the HDM market is going or should be going when it comes to making business plan decisions?

For example: Blu-ray exclusivity to help end this format war quicker, and Polls on desired title releases yet to come on BD, etc.

How much (if any) by being a fly on a blu-ray wall might influence a studio by listening to what their customers want?

That's all they should be doing right now since the format is still in it's infancy stage. And if that wasn't what they were doing, then things like a Fifth Element remastering wouldn't have happened. (Saying this as a BDA sponsorship flies across the screen of the Orange Bowl, I'm going for Kansas between Spurs commercials.)

It would be foolish to think they DON'T check out this site. I mean, they probably won't admit to it, and they may not necesarrily surf this site from sony.com, toshiba.com or whatever company work internet address .... but I bet reps for those companies do occasionally drop in.

who frequent this board on a regular basis. How much influence they may or may not have is a different matter.

Fifth Element and PotC1 re-release says at least Disney and Sony are influenced by the forums.

You don't think our known "insiders" are the only insiders interested in the public perspective do you?

I think they do. They prob hire someone at the public relation or customer service department to do the work so they will get better idea about the feedbacks on their products and improvements.

Josh,
Speaking of that, do you know if the Fox Executive registered here is ever going to post?

No idea. My guess would be after CES when everything has cooled down.
