Default Question...

Are they releasing "The Nightmare Before Christmas" on blu-ray at some point?

There has been some speculation, but I believe Disney has put on some Blu-rays a list of titles coming to Blu-ray soon and that is one of them
No date, no official announcement, but it is very likely going to happen, probably by 4Q this year.

This year is the 15 anniversary of the movie. I would not be surprised if Disney had a release date around Christmas ready AFTER the 3D release this Halloween. Disney will not hurt its theatrical release with a video release on top of it and my theatre is already booked this October for the 3D release for the 3rd time.

It will be a HUGE Christmas hit if it comes out in time this year.
I know I will get it.

I'd definitely grab a copy of that as well - its a classic.

Does anyone know when the earlier Pixar films will get the Blu treatment? My daughters love Toy Story and Bugs Life.

Last I heard, Toy Story won't come out till 2009 at the earliest. But Nemo will be out this year.
However there is no official release date for Toy Story yet so anything could happen.

Thanks Captain - not as soon as I would like, but its good to know none the less. Nemo will look amazing on Blu if it gets the same treatment as Cars and Ratatouille.

My guess is no Toy Story until 2010. Disney/Pixar will hold it for the release of Toy Story 3 (due in theaters in 2010). I would hope for a big box set, like they did on DVD a few years back, but they may hit Blu-Ray a little before TS3 hit theaters. The Incredibles would be a good catolog title for '09 or Mosnters, Inc (I would love to see both ).

As far as Nightmare Before Christmas it is no longer on DVD. In the Disney vaults so to speak. As it as been pointed out this year is the 15th anniversary and it was re-released in theaters a few months back. I think we should have it for Halloween or Christmas in '08 (I would think Blu-Ray and DVD).

I'm guessing based on what I've seen Disney do in the past. So it is just my 2 cents

That makes sense. That's probably what they'll do.
