Question Multichannel analog outs for PS3?

This is more of a hardware technical question:

Would it be possible to make some kind of adapter, in order to have analog outputs on the PS3?.
Like something you could plug in the Multi AV output (a chord with all the analog outs at one end)?

Or doesn't the internal hardware on the PS3 support this at all?

...would be great though...

I could use one of those too.

I am sitting here looking at the cable that came with the PS3 to plug into the AV output.... and I am seeing analog outs; RCA plugs for composite video and analog left and right.... what are you guys asking for? If is is for analog "component" video out, I would damn near bet a paycheck it doesn't support it.

Component is already working, if you have the right cable.

I'm wondering over the possibility of adding multichannel analog audio outputs, to make PCM over analog possible.

Anyways, I've registered a patent for this idea now.
However, I'm willing to sell it for 1 million dollars...or just trade it for 3 Blu-ray movies (Talladega Nights not applicable)...

Exactly, because the digital cable (Toslink) doesn't have enough bandwith AFAIK.
And therefore multichannel analog outputs are the only alternative if you don't own or don't intend to buy a hdmi receiver.

All of the old PS2 cables work as well, including those beastly monster component cables that you can get new and unopened on Ebay for about $20.

Apparantly someone at AVS wondered the same thing as me:

According to SirDrexl over there:

No, they only have DACs for two channels. It's not a bandwidth issue.
So that should answer this then.
