Default What would be bigger news?

Suppose Best Buy announces that they are going to stop selling duds at CES this week what would be the bigger news WB going Blu exclusive or BB anouncing that they will stop selling dud? I know BB going blu exclusive this week is unlikely but my vote would be BB going blu. What to you guys think?

WB going Blu is bigger news to me because it will trigger other news such as BB going Blu, it is the start of the Domino Effect, IMO!

I understand your point but BB is a huge retailer of home media so in effect Universal and Para***** would have no choice to go blu because of the lack of ability to get their movies to the consumers.

I don't really think Universal or Paramount need an ultimatum at this point. I woudn't be at all surprised to see one or both make statements at the big Blu-ray CES event. And if not then... then very soon after.

Won't happen as long as Universal and Paramount are making them. Of course, when that stops, sure.

+1

You could always go somewhere else to get hddvd, but hddvd people can not do a damn thing about WB releasing blu only, just whine & complain.

The only possible bigger news would be Toshiba throwing in the towel and conceding defeat, and crawling to the BDA for a license to make a BDA player.

if Best Buy stopped selling hd-dvd or WB going blu exclusive. WB has already gone blu exclusive but if best buy stopped selling duds which would be a bigger headline at CES?

WB is the biggest piece of news. Nothing is going to be as big, as it will all seem like fallout from the WB announcement.

Nonetheless...I'm hoping we'll start seeing this turn into the remaining studios on board. It's great to see BD win this thing, now it's about getting all of that great content that we don't have yet.

Default The true turning of the page:

Toshiba announces dual players and the 360 gets a dual add-on. Symptom of Endgame.

toshiba announcing dual players would be the biggest news of the week. They would practically telling their supporters that they have given up on hd-dvd.

Graffeo and Kornblau getting the boot, rdjam, Lee Stone and Amir giving up their FUD spreading crap. What the hell am I saying? Rdjam, Lee Stone and Amir giving up FUD is like Courtney Love giving up heroin. It WILL NOT happen.

I think Warner's announcement would be trumped by Best Buy.

Best Buy is the largest retailer of HDM by far, so having them stop selling HD-DVD would be even more of a deathblow than Warner.

In a theoretical Universe where Warner was still deciding, the announcement that Best Buy dropped HD-DVD would pretty much instantly push Warner and Universal to go Blu. I'm not convinced that it will work the other way around.
