Default MGM on xbox live?

microsoft just had there press confrence, and they have new partners for the live downloade service. they include, disney abctv, universel, and mgm sony owns mgm right? so why would they allow this?. ( if you want a link ill get it)

It's a different sector of the entertainment industry altogether. I think disney has been a partner with XBOX live for quite some time. This relationship between MS and Studios isn't related to optical media.

Business is business. If any company feels like they can generate future revenues from such venues then they will pursue it. Simple as that.

ya microsoft has nothing to do with movies other then renting them out over xbox live
and paying people to use an inferior format

Sony owns 20% of MGM, so clearly Sony has a say about what happens, but many other companies also own parts of MGM. I think the largest holder holds 29%. Although this really doesn't affect the HD DVD.

man that kida sucks, i thought sony would have nothing to do anybody near hd-dvd, and why sony hasint got there online service any movies yet? its bad enough that your rival gets your own movie studio first.

oh buy the way the xbox boys are having fun with this on n4g.com, talking about how even blu only studios are seeing digital dowloads are the future, and how all blu only studios will come to live

And they are all on VuDu. And they'll all be on whatever Sony sets up for the PS/3.

I don't think any studio really wants to be locked into any download service exclusively.
