Same problem here (I posted this a few days ago on AVS).
Here are some timestamps of where the issue is: 00:01:46-47 00:08:10-11 00:08:45-46 01:12:48 I have checked these against the regular DD track and there are dropouts on PCM. This is also on a PS3 with the 1.93 firmware. I have asked others to check these specific areas, but so far, no takers. EDIT: Also 1:27:21, which is the original place I noted. Anyone seeing the issue, can you document what player you are using? Last edited by EdLee; 10-27-2007 at 06:20 PM. |

Yeah, I can confirm I have the same issue. I noticed the first one in the beginning where he decides to make the memory machine and points to something on a chalk-board. It was then fine until near the end of the movie where it happened maybe 3 or 4 more times during the "finale". Don't want to describe the scenes and risk spoiling the movie for others.

I'll say it again... it's NOT my reciever. If I take and connect my PS3 directly to the TV, the audio drop outs are still there. The BDP-S1 will play the movie without drop outs. It'd be very strange to get a batch of discs that wont work on some PS3's but will work on others. What I suspect is that people just aren't noticing the drop outs as they're very subtle and actually seem more like quick fade out's/fade in's. It's also only on the LPCM tracks, and not the Dolby Digital ones. I am guessing if you have the movie turned down you wont notice them.

I'd like to bring this thread back up again as I am also having problems with my copy of Ratatouille (and I am guessing also Cars). It's ONLY on the PS3 as far as I can tell, right now I am in the middle of swapping out my PS3 for my BDP-S1 to test it out...

It's the multi-angle/seamless branching that Disney is using to have text appear in multiple languages on screen. If you pay attention on Meet the Robinsons, the PCM drop outs always occur near text of some sort. If they go to a shot where you see Bowler Hat Guy's "To Do" list, there's a drop out on a cut very near to there so that they can jump to a clip to show his "To Do" list in Spanish or French if those happen to be the primary languages you've chosen. My assumption is that it is multi-angle, but I noticed similar drop outs on the Waiting... telestrator commentary (which is seamless branching). I will guarantee you that if you check against those timecodes listed earlier, you will find text screens very close (such as the subtitles when the Dinosaur speaks, even something as simple as the address of the orphanage). It's an issue with the PS3 and has nothing to do with your receiver or the disc (well, I guess it's technically the disc, but you can't get around it since that's how they authored it).

Yep, I'm using the PS3. Hopefully with the next firmware update they will address this issue. |

im having problems on all BD special features. When i start a special feature the audio doesnt start for 3 or 4 seconds......really annoying. Any work around? Im using a PS3, no receiver, HDMI straight into my TV and its only on special feature loadups. Thanks.

I thought it was just me but I've had pops and clicks on almost all of my discs all between 5 and 10 minutes into a movie. My firmware is up-to-date and I have a brand new Sony receiver and I still get this. I wonder if it is the HDMI cable? I sent a support request to Sony via the PS3 website. No response - what a surprise!
Anybody else having this problem? BTW I have the 60GB PS3. |

Another problem could be a surge in the power supply of the receiver. Somebody might turn on or off a light and it creates a power surge. fuad |
