Default Side Bars

Okay, so I just hooked up Comcast-supplied hdtv box (motorola DCP3200) to the Samsung 4665 via HDMI. the non-hdtv channels show these big black bars on each sides (there wasn't any bars prior to using the hdtv box). Is this normal? If I want the bars out, how do I get rid of it? Thanks.

Thats just how it is.

Make sure your HD is set up correctly. Turn off the box and hold the "Guide" and "Info" button at the same time, that should put it into "HD Mode" then go thru the simple step by step....

Also, grab your remote and press the "Menu" button twice. That will bring up another settings screen. Scroll down to "Set: Picture Format" and make sure its set to "Pass-Through".

You've also got to realize that some shows and commericals are still 4:3, so even though you're watching an HD channel(16:9), you're going to get those black bars on the sides.
