Nice player.
Hopefully there will be an update from Sony that will let it bitstream DTS-HD MA like the Pioneer Elite 95 does now.
(they are virtual clones video wise)

I had a 500 thrown in when I got my XBR5 and ES 5300. I played it a few times and loved it.

I only had 2 complaints. 1, given my investment in amp I wanted to have HDMA in bitstream. 2, it's load time was really long. I had to wait a very long time for Spidey 3 to come up.

However, it's a great player in my limited experience. I do understand you can download the Sony firmware updates to DVD and update from there. If you don't care about HDMA then I can't think of anything else.

After a couple of days I took it back and got a PS3 80GB instead. I'm a gamer and decided they'll either update the PS3 with HDMA or I'll get a BD player that can do it.

Nice, I'm assuming you got fed up with your Samsuck. I just did, and ordered a BDPS300 last night.

Yeah it pissed me off too much. I would have been even more pissed if i got 3:10 to Yuma today and it didn't play like everyone is saying...

hey you have an xbr5... why don't you get the S500? it does the 24p, would look very smooth on your tv

I'm really happy with it so far. I agree it's a lil slow, but oh well... thats how it goes...

I'm planning on using this player only until the Panny BD50 comes out.
