For me it was Heavenly Sword but if I was picking what game I thought most PS3 users would pick, it would be Uncharted or COD4. I like both of those as well but for some reason, Heaveny Sword just hit all the right notes with me.

For an OVERALL game it has to be COD4. Great single player campaign, (although short) and unmatched multi player. Graphics are about as good as it gets for realism. Not cartoony at all. No other game can match both single playe and multiplayer like this game.

Guys, explain to me about Drake's... I played the demo but it just didn't do anything for me. Graphics were nice but it just seemed like a male Tomb Raider. Is the actual game in single player a lot better? Fill me in because I passed on it based on the demo.

Game Informer was pretty fair. The top was dominated by COD4 or Bioshock but Uncharted was in quite a few Top 10 lists of the writers as was Ratchet & Clank, GHIII, RB and others. GI has a mix of fanboys from both sides and a few neutral folks. That's about as good as you can expect these days.

Those 3 reasons knock it out of contention for game of the year, they are too big to overlook.

Agreed. I love co-op on a LAN but pure online with strangers to me just loses the romance of the story as well as any strategy and just denegerates into who can aim and shoot the fastest.

It's gotta be 'Uncharted' or 'Rock Band'!!! But, alas, the media wants to make sure that they suck up to Micro*****. So, 'Bioshock', although fun, was nothing spectacular. Hell, I enjoy my 'Assassins Creed' more than my 'Bioshock' and it's still sitting unopened on my AV stand!!!

The screen tearing is very, very far from awful. Almost everyone I know who has seen it thinks the game looks phenomenal and no one has ever even notices the tearing when you panning the camera. It's an issue for some but not for most... let's not exaggerate.

i haven't played the demo so i don't know what it consist of, but the game itself is crazy. the game doesn't let up once. some games i play off and on, but uncharted kept me playing. thats something i cant say for even some of my favorites. and the graphics at some points I literally just had nate stand there for about 10 mins and admire the realistic ocean and jungle.

Short and it ends awkwardly. When it ends, I was like, "For real?" Also the beginning was gay as hell. It was a good game but I thought it started and ended on very weak notes.

And anyone that says COD4 is better on ps3 is kidding themselves, or just
hasn't played it on the 360....Let me just give the biggest reason why

If your playing as a team, you can communicate as a team to let your
fellow teamates know your position....Cause the 360 has voice communication....What are you supposed to do on the PS3 call your friend
on the phone and say, hey bro there's a sniper about to shoot you.....

the only reason it doesn't tear like hell when you pan is because they blur the bejesus out of everything. if you simply run around the screen tears at least once every 30 seconds. the screen tearing is written as a downgrade in many reviews and what kept this game from gettin perfect graphics ratings, because other than the tearing it does look wonderful.

im sorry, but i played through the game and i personally think the screen tearing took the game from a 10/10 graphically down to a 9/10.

my final score on the game would be

graphics 9/10
story 10/10
replay value 7/10
sound 9/10
overall 8.8/10

8.8 is not GOTY in my opinion and you will see many review sites that gave a very similar score. im not alone on this belief

Never said you were alone in that belief or that it was GOY. I said it wasn't "awful". It hardly ruins the game. If anything were truly "awful" then you would NOT personally give it 9/10.

"I loved this game, but the controls were AWFUL." Yeah, I don't think so. Imperfect, yes. Awful, no.
