Real game of the year! - Blu-ray Forum

Best game of the year is HALO 3. It's not even close. I have a PS3 for bluray, but an xbox 360 for games. Warhawk was pretty good, uncharted was ok too, but for my money halo 3.

this thread is purely opinion, but Halo 3? Are you serious?

multi-player i'll give it that, but game of the year? I have yet to be swayed.

For me it was Heavenly Sword but if I was picking what game I thought most PS3 users would pick, it would be Uncharted or COD4. I like both of those as well but for some reason, Heaveny Sword just hit all the right notes with me.

For an OVERALL game it has to be COD4. Great single player campaign, (although short) and unmatched multi player. Graphics are about as good as it gets for realism. Not cartoony at all. No other game can match both single playe and multiplayer like this game.

Short and it ends awkwardly. When it ends, I was like, "For real?" Also the beginning was gay as hell. It was a good game but I thought it started and ended on very weak notes.

I use my 360 for gaming more than I do the PS3, but I agree Halo 3 didn't even make the bottom of my list.

I think the problem with the GOTY awards is there's not a lot of public polling to decide. You got a bunch of easily swayed paid people making this GOTY list and then voting the top 10 in and selecting the best by making a poll... It's so apparent that there are threads like these to select the true heroes.

Like the post above I think Uncharted was by far the most underrated GOTY, and deserves praise all around (minus screen tears). That game environment is friggin gorgeous to play in.

i'm back guys, checking on my thread. and i like this post. I agree with you on Uncharted being the most underrated, thats how it seems to me too. now I know some people have problems with the screen tear

so they are holding that against it for GOTY, but if not that you got to give it action/adventure of the year, i mean come on the story is unmatched.

o yeah, can't forget the GRAPHICS

I rented Uncharted and the game seemed rather basic and simple. ALmost like a modern day Pitfall. Any game today that doesn't incorporate an online agenda shouldn't really be considered. I think of it as old school and I'll play super contra if I want old school.

Online gaming is the way of the future. Prior to me owning my ps3 last Jan, I hadn't played games in almost 15 yrs. I bought my ps3 for the blu and just out of curioustiy I rented Madden and the online aspect hooked me to where I'm worse in terms of addiction now then when I was in HS.

Warhawk is 100x better then Uncharted. There are so many things you can do. You can fly the warhawk, defend the flag, pursue the flag, lay land mines for defense. Now with the new update you get the drop ship where you can fly in and pick up a teamates vehicle and take him back to base with the flag. It's almost being a kid and getting to play Army again.

I love COD4 too, but I have never even tried the single player campaign, again too boring. You know where all the bad guys are going to pop up.

I'm surprised that even a 360 gamer would say that. My two buddies who game on the 360 both were super excited about this game and after they beat campaign mode said they'd probably never play it again. They said Gears of War, Bioshock, and some other game were way better.

COD 4
Bioshock
Mass Effect are all better games. Halo 3 doesn't even get the bronze for the 360 alone, much less GOTY.

Guys, explain to me about Drake's... I played the demo but it just didn't do anything for me. Graphics were nice but it just seemed like a male Tomb Raider. Is the actual game in single player a lot better? Fill me in because I passed on it based on the demo.

i haven't played the demo so i don't know what it consist of, but the game itself is crazy. the game doesn't let up once. some games i play off and on, but uncharted kept me playing. thats something i cant say for even some of my favorites. and the graphics

at some points I literally just had nate stand there for about 10 mins and admire the realistic ocean and jungle.

1A Call of Duty...
3. Mass Effect....

And anyone that says COD4 is better on ps3 is kidding themselves, or just
hasn't played it on the 360....Let me just give the biggest reason why

If your playing as a team, you can communicate as a team to let your
fellow teamates know your position....Cause the 360 has voice communication....What are you supposed to do on the PS3 call your friend
on the phone and say, hey bro there's a sniper about to shoot you.....

Any of you gamers like a game that isn't first person POV and/or not a shooter?

As an old guy (really old) the FPOV makes me carsick -- so I like those games where I can "stand back" and see my character and move them around (or not have to pan much at all). I loved both of the James Bond PS2 games ("From Russia with Love", "All or Nothing") for that very reason. Any old fart games that are any good?
