Default Decided to take the plunge and ordered the Onkyo SR605

After a lot of reading, I decided to take the plunge and ordered the SR605 from TigerDirect for $389 total. ($0 shipping and tax)

Can't wait to replace my 6 year old Sony receiver and hook it up to the PS3.

Anyway, just wanted to share since this unit sells for $499 at CC (though there's a sale on it on their website for $469). Seems like a good deal.

My understanding is that CC will only price match against a local retailer or their own website.

Really anxious to hook everything up. Ordered another HDMI cable from Monoprice.com so that I'll have everything ready when it arrives.

Planning on connecting:

PS3 > HDMI > SR605
TWC HD/DVR > HDMI > SR605
Wii > Component > SR605
SR605 > HDMI > Phillips 47FPL7422D/37 1080p LCDTV
SR605 > JBL NSP-1 speakers & PB12 subwoofer

I won't be doing 7.1, but that's okay. I think I'll be good.

Hook up is a BREEZE. The longest part was either adjusting my shelves (because it's larger than my last receiver) or the Audessey2 setup which only took 5 minutes atmost.

Mine is set up similarly.
PS3 > HDMI> SR605
Cable PVR > HDMI > SR605
SR605>HDMI>Aquos

I decided to go with Dave and Tim:Radio City. Started with it on Dolby Digital.... Then switched to TrueHD...

Wow.... Amazing. I can't stop laughing about the incredible difference. I deleted a 2 paragraph ramble about it....Trust me, anyone thinking about upgrading your receiver to lossless.... DO IT....my god
