Hi guys, I plan on buying this. Can someone recommend some good speakers, not too big (for a small room) preferably under or around 400. If there is anything else I will need, recommend it, I generally suck in this area of electronics. So any help would be much appreciated.

I have the same receiver. I bout the Klipsch Quintet III speaker system for it. It has a center and 4 sattelites. Then when I was ready and could afford to, I purchased 2 RF-52's and used the 4 speakers as the surrounds. Although it does not come with a sub.
Oh ya, it sounds great for 5 speakers for $400

What are you using for a sub then?

the Energy TAKELCR's with TAKESAT's for rears are nice for small rooms. They have a curved back so they fit in corners well and come with shelf stands and wall mounts.

I didn't upgrade my sub (yet). I am still using an RCA sub that is about 5 years old.

These are ideal for a smaller room. I have them. Read the reviews.

I just got the 605 and I have a few questions regarding some issues. I have the Samsung 1000 connectedt to it via HDMI.

Now, when I set the Samsung to PCM and I have the 605 set to "Direct," the sound only is coming out of my left and right speakers. I am getting no surround sound, basically just stereo sound. What is up with this?

in the samsung settings, page 42 of the user manual, did you have the speaker settings for surround and center channel set to off? they should be set on either 'large' or 'small'

thats the only thing I can come up with to your problem...
