Default "Shake" problems

Hi- I am new to the boards but understand Blu-Ray enough. The problem is "shake".

Since getting my Blu-ray player- a Sony BDP-S300 I have horrible shake problems. The picture is always going black every 30-40 seconds and it has become a real issue.

My LCD is a Samsung LN-T4661F (46 inch). I love it- I also only use HDMI cables.

So why the problem? One friend suggested that the player is basic and can't keep up with the set. Others have said they bought Playstations and have never had a problem.

I would love advise from anyone who has encountered these problems.

I have the same player and a plasma. I've never seen this problem.

Try another HDMI port and another cable. Definately sounds like transmission errors

The problem is that the image goes black for a second...not that it actually shakes. For some reason the world has called this a "handshake" problem.

The problem seems to be worse on certain discs, but never happens in the same place twice.

Any more info would be great- HDMI cable problem, player???? I give up!

It is likely the HDMI cable. HDMI will try to turn off the signal if it thinks something is trying to pirate from it. More than likely, it is just a bad cable or a bad connection. Either get a new cable, or try re-organizing the cables in the back of the TV so it does not put stress on the HDMI cable.

Have you always had this problem? Is it consistently recurring?

This is probably a dumb suggestion, but my handshake issues were resolved by making sure the TV was turned on first, before the player.
