Default Enderle: Jackass to the end...

"Blu-ray won, but I'm not convinced it will ever take hold," Enderle asserted. "Upscaling DVD players is a great way to sit it out until the downloads show up."

what a son of a b.....

this jerk really pisses me off.
He looses so he pretends it was doomed anyways and Blu-ray will loose too.
F*** him! D/L will not be taking over anything for a long time. If you want HD, go Blu, if you want portability on a laptop, download it. Most people will go Blu.

"There's always the chance for a miracle," Enderle said. "HD DVD still has Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) in its camp, and Microsoft probably owes them more than one favor.

"But it would be tough," he concluded. "Unless that miracle happens, I think we're pretty much done."
Who is WE exactly?

How obvious can you be? What if there is that miracle? Then downloads aren't the way to go?

Geez, talk about a man confused who his true master is (paid "consultant" of Microsoft and Toshiba).

Download is cool for RENTING and even then i could walk 5 minutes and rent a movie for less than what the current Xbox Live strategy is offering with more quality

Show me a HDD that doesn't crap after 1-2 years (extensive use) ... i passed about 5 HDD in the last 10 years.. while i only got 1 dvd with DVDROT since DVD launch and Bluray and any media for that reason..

VOD is already there, and it work and there's no waiting, no bandwitdh (as far as down/up bandwitdh limitation for the consumer)...

We are just talking about toys, it's silly to react this way.

These are the kinds of posts that are most disturbing.

Rob E is dead wrong, but to talk about violence, cussing him out, etc.? Folks step back, go outside, take in some air, its just material things.

Obviously you take things too seriously. More of a joke. The guy is dead wrong and I think all of his "credability" is lost. He should be silenced though, his rantings are beginning to be a little too much now and I am sure I am not the only one thinking this.

I'm tired of emailing him to tell him why he's wrong. He just doesn't get it. I wish he, and all the other goobers that are getting boners about downloads, would answer a few questions:

1) What codec is going to be used for downloads?

2) How good is it compared to AVC?

3) What do people do if they want to keep a copy of the download? There are only two options:
a) burn it to a disc
b) keep it on a hard drive of some sort

4) If people want to burn a copy to a disc, what format are they going to use?

5) If people keep a copy on a hard drive, what happens when they run out of space? Buy more hard drives?

6) If the codec used for downloads is not as good as AVC, or the bitrate is not high enough, then how many people are going to be satisfied with it compared to a Blu-ray disc?

The last time I emailed him and told him he needed to find something else to do with his life, since he wasn't good at this, he replied:

"Actually I'm very good at this, ranked towards the top in my field. "

He said that the "buzz" at CES was about downloads. Did ANYONE read ANYTHING about downloads in ANY CES report ANYWHERE other than his stupid article? I didn't.

After watching "Man in the Moon" one time, I began to wonder if Enderle is like Andy Kaufman, who entertained himself by seeing how much he could piss other people off.

Dude, you cover up one mistake with another.

You went from "I am joking" to "he needs to be silenced"

This is a free country, and he can say his FUD all he wants. In fact, he should keep talking, because it is so obvious how wrong he is, and the more he puts his foot in his mouth, the better. He will in essence "silence" himself.

hehe, good points. He IS rather obvious.

I really enjoy his implication that MS might pull off a $tunt to $ave hddvd though they are SURE downloads are the future... as apparently is he.

Logic is in short supply, as is subtlety.
