Default maybe a new BUY-A-THON is in order? thoughts

anyone else think after all the news that maybe we should have another one to help bury HD-DVD? the last one i can remember was the pre-christmas anti-transformers one.

maybe it should be a warner buy-a-thon? i can't remember who organised the last ones but they did a great job of keeping everybody in check, anyways it was just an idea

We need another buy-a-thon like HD Dud needs another studio to go blu!!

This is really not needed or warranted right now. The warner news is doing its own damage.

I think we should keep this idea on the back burner. If, after a month or 2, nothing changes with Paramount or Universal... maybe then we should have one.
But right now it is too soon after WB went Blu and we have to see how the market goes.

TBH, I think the the markets now too large for these kind of things to have any influence any longer.

Blu-ray will crush HD-DVD in the coming months.

Exactly!!

Besides, Paramount hasn't even had the chance to analyze any data post Warner decision to see the impact already. Heck, How do you know they haven't decided to bo blu yet? If you know anything about marketing, they want this decision to be about paramount, not because of Warner so EVEN if they decided to go blu already, they are waiting to get the maximum coverage out of the press. You think they would even announce anything this week with Macworld going on?

I just bought 10. Come on everyone we can end this once and for all with another buy-a-thon. HD DUD is dying but we might as well kill it.

I don't think one is warranted right now (too soon after the WB news). Besides, I ordered 9 last night, so I'm outta Blu $$$ for at least a few weeks.

Ditto, I've bought way too much as it is, and pretty much will only buy if there is a sale or BOGO. Other than that I will save my money for the time being.

I agree with you here. It won't hurt to wait awhile and then blast 'em if we need to. And give it time to see some of those choice new releases included.

The problem with another buy a ton is you have to have a ton to buy. I only need to buy one more blu-ray before I have everything that is currently out that I want.
