I'm wondering what all the talk is about The Others lately in this thread. We have had The Others for quite some time this is a re-release , was it only available in Canada for some reason?

I believe Canada got it in 09, US has only just received it.

I have not watch this movie for years. will watch it on BR when it come out.

IMO.....FRAILTY and THE OTHERS were the 2 best horror films of the last ten yrs.

I think I'll be a happy camper with this release. Just by looking a the screencaps I can tell I'll be satisfied with the PQ. Definitely night and day compared to the DVD, which I can confirm wasn't a stellar looking DVD back in its day.

It definitely has some issues... there's some macroblocking going on that's making the grain look like it's digital as opposed to film, and there's edge enhancement to boot. However, this is a great movie, still looks miles better than the DVD, and is only going to be ten bucks. Can't really argue with that. This shall be mine!

The story rating went from 3 in 2001 to a 4 rating in 2011. Not bad.

this movie scared the hell out of me a decade ago. Been waiting off on buying this for the BD.

As a sidenote the title heading is misleading as its not a Walmart Exclusive. Every retailer releases it September 20th.

I wouldn't consider: The Others as a horror movie! It's a suspense, a ghost story.

ditto... i'm not a huge richard gere fan but i liked this one... i'm gonna try to pick up the others on tuesday at bestbuy... hopefully they will have it

well it wasn't really scary either... no disturbing images or anything that i remember... i would say it is more of a suspense/thriller than anything else... very good nonetheless
