Question Does anyone love to record video?

I'm trying to come up with some good ideas on what to record (whether it be in my home town, College Station, or just an idea period). Does anyone out there have a way to come up with ideas? Thanks!

On HDV?

I generally tape/record footage of travel or sports activity in family events. Family members performing in music concerts actually can turn out well too.

Generally, landscape, views from a hill or a building in an interesting location, sunrise, sunset.

It's generally assumed that taping things you enjoy will reinforce the habit more. A tripod is an absolute must have. At some point, you're going to be immersed in editing the video, and this is the exhaustive part that takes up all your free time. You can easily spend weeks trying trying to edit 10 hours into 2 that flows together well.

I love shooting it and editing it.

Sporting events, family get togethers, underwater footage. When our first kids are born I plan to shoot/edit/send out monthly DVD's to all the family members who aren't close enough to watch the little ones growing up.

I love editing so much that I am always looking for a reason to shoot some video, just so I can play around with it after.

You and me both so I hear you. Some people actually call me weird because I'll videotape anything (within reason) just to make a video out of it. I guess one can say that I'm obsessed with videotaping because if I don't video something every week I become cranky. Does anyone live around College Station, Texas that knows of something?

I have a Sony FX1 and just got the Sony CX7 (since the FX1 is a beast to lug around at times). Created a few Blu disc of family weddings and my kids. Got my workflow down pretty good, Edit/Capture with Premiere Pro, Premiere to MPEG2 and use DVDit HD Pro to create my Blu disc.

Would like Sonic to update DVDit to take AVC/VC-1 among other bug fixes
