Though Stern is a schmuck and caters to the lowest common denominator he helped TIVO get off the ground. Only he told them they have to double his HD drive size. So they did. From 40 MB to 80 MB.

If Howard even casually mentions that blu-ray is the best his beer swilling listening buddies will buy one.

Robin: Are you getting into... do you have HD? Or Blu-ray?

Howard: I have HD. I got Blu-ray too.

Robin: You got it all.

Howard: I think I have Blu-ray on one of my DVD players. I do. Yeah, I'm getting into that.

Robin: Eh, what do you think? Is there a significant difference? I mean, you could be one of our consumer reporters.

Howard: You know, the only thing I notice that's different in high def, I can see... I watch Smallville a lot, and the blonde chick has a lot of zits in Smallville. I don't know her name. Chloe. She plays the character Chloe. But other than that, no, I mean, yeah, but it's just a better better picture, but I don't really notice it all that much. See, here's the fallacy. You've gotta watch a high def broadcasting television station. And...

Robin: But, if you're looking at the DVD. I'm talking about DVD in particular. If you've seen a movie in high def...

Howard. Yeah. Yeah, it's a very clear picture. Yes. But, I mean...

Robin: And superior? I mean, far superior? Is this something everybody should rush out for? Do you have a preference between Blu-ray and HD?

Howard: Hey, you're overwhelming me. I really don't see that much of a difference, but then again, I'm the guy, you know, like, I don't hear the difference between DVD and stereo, I mean, you know, I just kinda... I don't care.

Robin: I'm shocked at myself, because usually I'm all excited about innovations in video technology, and I just don't care.

Howard: Yeah. I mean, you know what? It's good enough.

Robin: Yeah. I mean, how good is the movie going to get? What more can I see? I'm seeing the movie.

Howard: If they can make an X-ray where I can see through the actors' clothes, then I would really be interested.

Artie: I mean, the next this is, you know, you're gonna get Baretta over to your house personally to act out an episode.

Robin: That's right. The people will come to your house.

Howard: I ain't letting Baretta in my house. No offense.

Artie: Bad example. Maybe MacGuyver.
Again from the sound of it it sounds like he said he has HD (as in just high definition) and a Blu-ray player. If you listened to it on air, you would have even had a better impression of that.

Apparently David Beckham got a huge HDTV with a built in Blu ray player for Christmas, the missus read it in one of her girly mags. Apparently he loves gadgets and technology, he even got his younger son an IPhone for xmas!! he's about 8 or something!

I love Howard! If I didn't already have a blu-ray player I would buy one simply b/c he stated that he has one. Yes, I'm that much of a *****.

I was listening to the show when he mentioned it, but I'm not convinced he really had a grasp over what he was talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if he thought he had a blu-ray player but actually had the "other" kind (or just had a really fancy upsampling dvd player, altogether). He just doesn't strike me as someone who would know the difference. If he does have one, it was simply the luck of the draw, I would suspect, rather than him really being a connoisseur of av equipment and "picking" blu-ray.

Still, any mention is still helpful.

Uhhhhh.....WOW!

If the quote above is accurate I'd say we might not want Howard promoting Blu-ray. Let's stick with Limbaugh.

Hoo Hoo...

Howard invented HD.

FWIW... Rush Limbaugh talked about his Blu-ray player about a year or so ago.

I'm sure there are people that do care, so this is for them. If you don't then don't read the thread.

I'm just saying, he has more sheep that listen to his show and pretty much do anything he recommends without thinking twice.

Why is Toshiba cutting rice?
