It all depends on your taste.

The Lives of Others
Pan's Labyrinth
The Prestige
Corpse Bride

Really, just pick out a film that you really like and want to see in high def.

Hate to be a broken record but Casino Royale should be the first.

Hell yeah, man. That was my first Blu-Ray title. Well actually it was Spiderman 3 if you count the fact that it was included with my PS3. Cars is what I usually show as a demo to friends when I want to show off HD capabilities. It never fails to impress people. Plus, it's just a great flick suitable for all ages.

The very first BD I bought was Crank. Yes I said Crank. It is a guilty pleasure of mine and it had to be done. Soon after though I also picked up 300, Casino Royale, The Fifth Element and The Transporter 2. There's quite a lot of really great titles available out now so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding some great stuff for your blossoming collection. I'll agree with some of the titles already mentioned before like Casino Royale, the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, and Blade Runner. I'll also throw in some titles I found very enjoyable to watch on BD, like Curse of the Golden Flower, Paprika, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and the new season of Lost. Also if you get a chance, try to find a copy of the collector's edition of Stranglehold for the PS3 as it has in it a BD edition of Hard Boiled, which is just an awesome movie in itself if you're into Hong Kong crime-action flicks.

If you want to show off the picture quality... Casino Royale

Not that, that title has been suggested much .

Wild Hogs looks pretty good too (European version).

Default First Movie

Like everyone else on this thread.....Casino Royale should really be your first only choice. Of coure all the pixar movies, especially Ratatouille should be another great choice and not sure if anyone has mentioned this one....but SUNSHINE is really really really an awesome movie which is probably one of the best films I have seen in a very very long time.

Ratatouille was the best I have seen yet...(but I have and haven't yet watched Cars, PoTC:AWE, Black Hawk Down, Meet the Robinsons, Spidey Trilogy)

Can't go wrong with Casino Royale

The Patriot was good too but had almost a guaze-like quality to it

A bit off topic but, I can't wait to see Casino Royale. I have been watching all bond films for the first time from Netflix and just saw The Living Daylights. I never watch sequels without seeing the ones before them, I do the same with tv shows.

Is anyone else like that?

wasn't The Living Daylights in the high teens? You had better go back to 62 and start with Dr. No....or maybe you meant you were up to The Living Daylights. Yeah when you hit Casino Royale you'll realize that you should have jumped over the Timothy Dalton ones and went straight to it.

Casino Royale in my humble opinion is the best bond film since Never Say Never Again. in fact, **** that, Casino Royale kicks the hell out of 90% of all the bond films. it ruled.

but nothing can top Goldfinger....

Black Hawk Down (basically the high definition Deluxe Edition DVD)
Casino Royal
300
or The Rock ( basically the high definition Criterion Edition)

on second thought why not all four, that is if your bank account is not too black and blu.

All the movies I just mentioned have PCM 5.1 audio
