And saved the best for last...the LAUNCH TRAILER!!! F1.com is running it as an exclusive for the weekend, I'm sure it's on youtube but maybe not HD.

Awesome stuff

I think this is the trailer from the website.

Neither can I! I have half a mind to go to the best buy/gamestop midnight opening for gears of war just to buy F1 2011 on ps3

But I don't wanna get out at midnight ha. I'll just get it Tuesday, assuming they have it on the shelves.

I got my copy in my hands!!

FYI: Already a 1.01 patch, 25MB. Why? I don't know. Good question.

Best Buy had about 4 copies of it, and it turns out that if for some odd reason I had gone to Gamestop at midnight to pick it up, the location I would have went to didn't have any copies. Whew! So glad I didn't.

I think the first thing I will do is Melbourne, India (want to see what it's like), then try to trigger a safety car.

First impressions - this....is different. Not a bad thing though. It will take you a race or two (or more) to adjust to it. Of course, every car I think is different, so maybe some will be similar. But I played 2010 this weekend and I spun out almost every turn on my very first lap in 2011.

the india track is interesting. feels like a bunch of other track sectors were just blended together. Little Korea, little China, throw in some Dhabi and bam there it is. Okay, I'm exaggerating but you get the point. Not much runoff either, at least in the game.

No safety car yet.

Also, for some reason when I came into the pits in india with McLaren, it ghosted coming in for a few seconds, odd glitch.

And this might be new info - your race distance options are 3 laps, 20%, 50% and 100%. NO options for 30 or 40% race distances.

I love the game! I love the smooth frame rate and smooth handling from the cars. If you love F1 you will love this game. Also it has a great sense of speed! I have won 5 races in a row and it was a record. Already have 5 trophys

I got 6 in my first race

Man once you get the handling down this game is soooooo much better. I saved a spin in light rain! I was so awestruck at this that I realized I still need to keep driving!

I'm still getting used to KERS too. Half of the time I forget I have and forget to use it in the race, but I usually remember in Qualifying. And it's a total blast trying to sort out in Q when to use DRS and KERS. I took one of the fast left-handers in China with my DRS open, similar to Seb doing it earlier this year in Qualifying. Yeah, that was a mistake nobody was going to correct, I did a 720 across the grass haha.

You can really feel the car lose downforce if you open the DRS and aren't pointing you car straight. So good.

I really want this game but I got Gears 3 yesterday and it's hard to put down.

Are the wheel physics any better than F1 2010? After playing GT5 for days I didn't like the lack of 'feel' that I felt with '10.

Started a co-op season last night. Pretty fun competing with each other and not worrying about destruction derby. We did 3 20% races last night. Doing great in Constructors

My complaints so far - 1)I wish they didn't take out the 30 and 40% race distance options. Some races 20% is enough for me, I want to get it over with (lookin at you Catalunya). But Montreal or even Istanbul I don't mind doing a bit more, but maybe not 50%. Oh well. 2) No "return to garage" option in co-op. Why? It doesn't do anything odd. I'm lazy!

Actually, that's about it, for now. Absolutely love the rest, handling is great, much more realistic and it's nice to attack the kerbs. Also, very hair-raising to open your DRS in the Monaco tunnel or Turn 8 at Istanbul. Actually, don't do that second one. You'll spin out. Baaaaad idea.

I did find an interesting glitch too. We decided to put AI on amateur in co-op for China to get some nice points and with 20% distance I lapped everyone up to 3rd place. Except in the results screen, it had 3rd-8th at the bottom of the screen 19-24th (were talking button, webber, vettel, etc) with +1 lap and the rest would say +2:35.xxx. Not only should they say +1 lap, but it's putting higher positions randomly at the bottom with no penalties. I didn't think about checking the points until now, but we got a huge gap on McLaren, so I bet it did affect it. I would post this on codemasters forums, but they're down.

Does this game require proper tuning and setup to be able to win?

Not really. You can put the AI on amateur (easy) and as long as you're half-decent and have some sim-racing background, you'll be fine and lapping half the field. The reviews for the game stated that it's not very noob-friendly (which all the fans like). If you've never driven an F1 car in a game and don't play much racing games, it might be a shock. But if you've played some GT5 or something, then it's just a matter of getting used to the handling, nothing huge.

But if you want to win against upper AI, some knowledge will almost be necessary. There's a fantastic site, racedepartment.com, that has car setups for F1 2010. They may not work for you, but if so they can be the difference in 1st and 10th on the grid on the harder AI difficulties. You just have to play around with them. I haven't checked to see if there are any F1 2011 setups, but the game isn't even out for the UK until tomorrow, so I probably won't even bother looking for another week or two.

Is the regular season separate from the co-op season? I do not want to overright my current season. Would like to start a co-op season to get trophys Just got the trophy where you lap 6 cars
