Default New to Blu and loving every minute!!

Hi everyone. I just bought a PS3 a few days ago. Im running into a 42" JVC Genessa LCD at 720P through an HDMI 1.3 cable.

The picture is beautiful beyond words. I dont even want to watch DVD's anymore and those look pretty good on my TV to begin with!

The sound is so much better and louder and clearer on Blu. Im running an old HK receiver that doesnt even have 5.1 capability. Yes its that old. LOL! BUT I usually keep it turned halfway up with DVD's. With Blu Im still using cheap RCA white and red inputs and I only turn it up HALF as much and yet its LOUDER and clearer by leaps and bounds. Im only running two main front speakers right now, Wharfedale MFM 3 speakers which are quite nice to me.

I am looking at new receivers now. I dont have the room to run 7.1 sound in the room Im using. I am sad over that now. I might move everything into another room now just because of that.

Anyway, I love my PS3 and Warhawk and I love Blu!!! That is all.

Welcome to the forums! Yeah I would suggest getting a new reciever, one with HDMI inputs/outputs. That way when you watch a movie with Linear PCM it will sound that much better! Onkyo, Denon, and Yamaha make nice recievers with these inputs/outputs for a reasonable price. If and when you do this, make sure you have your PS3 set to Linear PCM as it won't do Bitstreaming(internal decoding). Glad to see you enjoy Blu as much as the rest of us on here.

I just replaced a 6-year old Sony receiver with an Onkyo SR605. Highly recommend. I got mine through TigerDirect.com for $389 total shipped.

Cool Welcome indeed...

I have been supporting the Playstation brand since 2001 when I purchased my FIRST Playstation2 in Sydney, AUS. I am now in USA.
I have more than 3 PS2, including a TEST PS2.

Jumping the PS3 bandwagon back in Nov 17, 2006, it was a blast.
I had a great time camping outside Fry's and getting my Playstation3 at the first day..

I have used Yamaha 5690 receiver.
Then upgraded to Onkyo TX-SR803
And last week, I upgraded to ONKYO TX-SR805.

On the Playstation 3 gaming and movie experience, there is nothing like it.
REALLY!!!
This gaming console, PS3 is really a beast. There is nothing to compare.

My prediction:
2008 will see PS3 invading the majority of the households who want games and HD movies. It's going to be big for PS3, this year.

:-)

I'm in that group, sorta..... I have no interest in the game aspect, but as a Blu-Ray player, the PS3 has a lot of positives over its stand-alone counterparts (load time for one)

Yeah I knew I would go Blu and get a PS3 to do so, cause Im a game nerd too. So Im in love with my PS3. I just couldnt afford one sooner or I would have got one by now. I havent touched my 360 since I got my PS3.

I use it for everything. I copied some of my fave Jazz cd's onto the HD and I use for my music too. Its just beautiful. Thanks you Sony!

Blu Ray is the future for sure and it sounds cool too!

Your enjoyment has just begun belive me. Welcome.

Add another to the Blu Ray army.

I don't know what kind of movies you like but may I suggest

1. The Rock
2. Casino Royale
3. Black Hawk Down

as soon as you get 5.1 PCM you will wonder how you ever lived with out it.
