Default PS3 Controller

I think it's time that Sony designed a new controller for the PS3. I love that it is bluetooth and can be plugged in via USB, like the motion sixaxis, and I love how light it is. I think they need to move the left joystick to where the direction buttons are. For instance, even though I am not a 360 fan, I really like their new controller, it feels comfortable and I love the bottom triggers (I do think the top left and right buttons need to be closer on the sides though.

Am I the only one that thinks it's time for a new controller design?

If it's not broke don't fix it. I like the fact that the same basic controller design has been used for the PS, PS2 and PS3.

Well that's what third-party vendors are for. I'm sure there are quite a few people out there that feel the way you do so there's bound to be some new controllers. Just pick those up.

I'm surprised 3rd parties haven't done what you suggest for folks such as yourself ..seems like a missed opportunity. And vice versa I guess.

The PS controller is one of the best designed controllers I have ever seen. unlike the Wii, you don't need to buy attachments to your controller to perform carious tasks.
It has worked for many years, has won awards in the past, and with a rumble feature, this is the best PS controller yet. No need to make it look like the 360 controller.
If you want a different shape controller there are 3 things you can do:

1 - Buy a 3rd party controller for the PS3 with the designed you like.
2 - Buy an adapter to let you play on your PS2/3 with an XBOX controller
3 - Convert a 360 controller into a PS3 controller or build one from scratch.

Spot on! I even suggested sony make the BD remote motion sensitve to take a stab at nintendo. It can be the PS3's nunchuck.

I don't have the time to do conversions or build one from scratch and I've had bad luck with the quality of 3rd party in the past. I like to stick with Sony accessories. I still like the current controller. I just think some tweeks from Sony would make it even better.

I think his point is still valid..if Sony offered it as an option ... besides it would benefit them with cross-over Xbox sales for those that prefer the 360 controller.
