This has probably been posted but actor Brad Renfro passed away last week I think of a drug over dose also. He was known for his role in The Client, and Sleepers and Apt Pupil.

Yes...also very sad, but he wasn't in The Firm...it was The Client.

Yeah I heard about this too. I really enjoyed him in Apt Pupil, great performance, very creepy and edgy. It's a shame for sure. Although he's probably lucky he wasn't quite as well known as Heath, simply for the fact that he's not ending up on the radar of all the same judgemental people that are bashing Heath.

It's a shame that people think Brad or Heath's extra curricular activities are any of their busines. It doesn't change the fact that they were both very talented. And their alledged drug and/or alcohol use never prevented the same judgemental people from seeing their movies so I don't see why it matters to them now.

Yeah I heard about that.What was that actors name? I know he appeared in alot of shows-He was Sam on The Braddy Bunch,he was on a few Andy Griffith Show episodes,and he played one of Archie Bunkers friends in All Of The Family.

I loved The Firm.
I grew up in the Cayman Islands and was there when it was filmed in 1991/1992.

We almost were extras, but got too stoned the morning they wanted us and played Mario instead then went to the beach.

Doh!

It's funny to still watch the Cayman scenes as there are so many people I know in it. The hotel used in the book, Royal Palms, burnt to the ground in 1981 so they used the Hyatt Regency instead, which still hasn't opened up again yet since Hurricane Ivan.

Grisham visited in 1977, which is why he used the Royal Palms hotel. Now it's just a bar on the beach.

There is no evidence at this point that Heath Ledger died of a drug overdose, legal or illegal. It may eventually turn out that he did, but to imply so at this point is rather unfair to him.

wow Renfro died too. Two fine actors, although Ledger seemed to be getting better, Renfro seemed to have passed his prime. This is a sad state of affairs. When kids die before their parents, it's never good...

His real name is Allan Melvin.
