Default Never Seen a _______ Movie. Suggestions?

I've never seen a Bruce Lee movie. I saw that Enter The Dragon was selling for cheap at the buy.com sale. Having never seen a Bruce lee flic (or ANY kung-fu outside of the Matrix or Kill Bill).. will I be Wowed???

Additionally, the only Bond movies I've seen was Casino Royale... any suggestions for an old school title???

How about a spaghetti Western?

Feel free to ask about your own "I've never seen a _____ movie" - and ask for suggestions...

Honestly - I totally love "Love, Actually". Ensemble cast, about love in it's different forms. Looks and sounds like a "chick flic", but a really Human movie more than anything. HIGHLY recommend it.

If you are a martial arts fan then you HAVE to watch a Bruce Lee film. Enter the Dragon was an excellent movie and the transfer was a definite improvement over the SD DVDs. However, don't expect the film to be on par with modern films in terms of PQ.

As for Bond films, I enjoyed Sean Connery as Bond. If you've seen Austin Powers, then you should definitely watch Dr. No to find where the spoofs come from.

Bruce Lee is the greatest and Enter The Dragon is a must see for anyone liking martial arts or action. No matter what the PQ, you will be wowed by his talent.

Yes...Enter the Dragon is great.

I replaced my DVD copy with a blu during the last BOGO, but I haven't had a chance to look at the PQ improvement yet.

Goldfinger is honestly one of my favorite Bond movies, along with Man With the Golden Gun (which actually has the landlady from Kung Fu Hustle in it for a second when she was like 18). I guess I like Gold things eh?

You may or may not like Bruce Lee. A lot of more modern martial arts movies are much faster and crazy in terms of fight sequences. So you may not be "wow'd" by him. If you are into Martial Arts then no brainer you will appreciate it .. but if you just enjoy action films maybe not so much.

Default 1313 Rockingbird La.

...Next to the Flintstones.

Sorry man, just never got exposed to 'em. But - like The Godfather movies, Citizen Kane, etc. - I'm interested on catching up on heavy-hitter classics. (I hated the Godfather series, should have stopped after the first one - love CK).

Still need to see Gone with the wind, casablanca, and others of that "respect" level.

Very true, however this movie is 27 years old and one of the first of it's kind in the US To me his movies are timeless but you are right, maybe not everyone would appreciate it if they aren't into martial arts.

Only if you've never seen "Kentucky Fried Movie"
Otherwise, it was the man, not the movies.

Do an IMDb search for "Sean Connery", and rent anything in the series before the 70's.

Try "Yojimbo" first and THEN watch "Fistful of Dollars".
Better yet, try "Seven Samurai" first, and then Yojimbo.

(Okay, any other genre volunteers?)

For Bond, even though my favourite is FRWL, start with Dr. No. Then watch From Russia With Love and finally Goldfinger, although you can watch Thunderball if you want...just watch Thunderball anyways, Domino is my favourite Bond girl.

Sense & Sensibility - At least he's playing a character, so all that twitchy stammering won't get on your nerves.

I'll second Love, Actually... along with About A Boy, Sense & Sensibility, and Notting Hill.

If you can handle thick Welsh accents, also try The Englishman Who Went up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain, which he also starred in with Colm Meaney.
