Default 'Lockout'

Quote:
Escape From New York goes to outerspace in the new sci-fi flick from French action man Luc Besson. In Lockout, Guy Pearce plays a wrongly-convicted felon who invades an interstellar prison and extracts the president’s daughter in exchange for his freedom.

Since creating La Femme Nikita 21 years ago, writer-producer Besson has specialized in brutal urban thrillers. Replacing the car chases that mark recent efforts like Taken and Transporter, Lockout features sleek spacecraft mayhem interspersed with a a nasty iinterrogation of Pearce’s character.

Co-directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger (Prey Alone), Lockout opens April 20.

Definitely looks different.

Gotta love the sarcasm of Guy Pearce's character. He had me cracking up almost the whole time he was being questioned.

Yeah he plays it perfectly. Always liked Pearce as an actor, and I am highly looking forward to this.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen many of his movies (I'll fix that someday), but he does look like he'll be very good in this.

I was a little worried when I saw that Maggie Grace was the female lead since she has yet to impress me (even though I love both Taken and Knight and Day), but they gave her the part obviously for a reason.

For Pearce I would highly recommend Ravenous, The Proposition and The Count of Monte Cristo if you have not seen them.

I am sure you have seen Memento and LA Confidential.

Yeah Maggie Grace has yet to step out of the shoes of Shannon in Lost for me, but I think she does have talent but has as of now been underused. Clearly Besson sees something in her after putting her in Taken and now this.

Loks different Did you read the synopsis, it's Escape from New York

However, if this is any good (and it isn't looking to shabby) I'll happily take this as Hollywood's Escape from New York remake. I like Guy Pierce, I like the style, and I like that Luc Besson is doing something outside his comfort zone (although no TOO far out)

Although it could be by his choice of roles, I don't know why he's not offered some of the more prominent roles that have come along in recent years...

Looks like the illegitimate child of Escape from New York and Battlestar Galactica with the teaser ...
With Guy Pearce in it .. consider me pre-sold (unless it would happen to be truly terrible).

He didn't break out like his L.A. Confidential co-star Russell Crowe did (even though I think he's better than Crowe). His big studio movies tend to suck and his really good stuff tends to be smaller films.

Sadly, I don't think so. There are a lot of movies I missed over the years, which is one of the things I'm enjoying most about Blu-ray (finally seeing films I missed for one reason or another). That's a discussion for another time though, so I'll just leave it as I haven't seen anywhere near enough of his movies.

I have only seen her in Taken, Faster, and Knight and Day (that I know of). She was fine in Taken and Knight and Day, but I thought she was a horrible choice for Faster. That may have had something to do with the fact that her character was horrible, but I didn't buy her as a tough girl either. Maybe this will finally be the movie where she impresses. I have nothing against her really, so I'm open to seeing her improve.

Ok, let me rephrase. It looks different than most movies. Escape from New York is not like most movies.

Movie has a title change. Now it is MS One Maximum Security, plus a full trailer making it look even more awesome.
