Default JJ Abrams and Mark Schwahn combining for CW drama

Quote:
J.J. Abrams could be coming to the CW.

The young-skewing network has given a script commitment to Maine, a drama set at an inn in Maine from Lost creator Abrams and One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn.

Schwahn, whose One Tree Hill begins its ninth and final season Jan. 11, will write the project and executive produce Maine via Mastermind shingle, with Abrams and Bryan Burk's Warner Bros. Television-based Bad Robot also exec producing.

Maine reunites Abrams with CW president Mark Pedowitz and executive vp drama development Thom Sherman, all of whom worked together on ABC/ABC Studios' Lost.

Should the project get a series order, it would mark Abrams' return to the network in which he started. The former WB Network was home to his first series, the Keri Russell starrer Felicity, which ran from 1998-2002.

STORY: J.J. Abrams, 'Supernatural' Creator Sell Thriller to NBC

Maine stands as Abrams' second project this development season, behind Revolution, an adventure thriller he's developing with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. NBC has given a pilot production commitment to the project.

The drama also gives Abrams projects at all of the broadcast networks except ABC: CBS has given a full-season order to rookie drama Person of Interest; and Fox will launch Alcatraz on Jan. 16. Abrams' last ABC project, CIA drama Undercovers, failed to catch on with viewers last season.

Maine also becomes the latest hotel-set project this development season; Grey's Anatomy's Shonda Rhimes has Gilded Lillys set up at ABC.

Well I dunno, the CW recently had another show about an inn in Connecticut called Gilmore Girls and I thought that show was fantastic.

Given the two of them creating the show, I think it at least has potential. If it hits, it's something that the network desperately needs. The CW already has some good shows, but it's still struggling nonetheless.

I don't care if Abrams is attached to this it still sounds like crap and it doesn't look like Fringe,LOST,Alias or Alcatraz

You never know. People could end up disappearing from the inn into an alternate universe on an island, and they end up finding Rambaldi artifacts that help them get back to their universe years later. That'd be kinda cool.

This! If anything, placing this WITH Nikita would probably bring in some viewers, including myself.

.....with Abram's lens flare in each and every shot, no doubt.

Nikita is the best reviewed show the CW has according to metacritic.

You actually want Nikita to be cancelled over this teen show from Abrams.
You do know he made Felicity right and the other creator made One tree Hill. So this will be teeny crap
