Default Having problems w/ my BDP-S301...

I've recently made an update firmware to my Sony BDP-S301, but I now have a problem. The problem is that while watching a blu-ray movie (ie The Shining, The Prestige and 3:10 To Yuma) the screen turns black, losing the image, for awhile but you can still hear the audio... and then the image returns. This happens throughout the whole movie.

I've tried watching the same movies on my PS3 but I haven't encounter such a problem as the BDP-S301.

Has anyone encounter the same problem as me??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No problem on 3:10 for me. I would do the update again with a new disc, and if that doesn't fix it return the player. Check your HDMI cable too.

I Have the 300 model and I havent experienced any issues watching the shining or 3:10 yuma.
Have had it mess up playing DVDS though, it froze up while the kids were watching The Longest Yard, but I blamed that on the Paramount disc...lol

I have the BDP-S301 model
Before updating, I tried playing 3:10 to Yuma and when I went to the audio options in the set up I selected the 5.1 surround (7.1 is default) and when I pressed the directional arrows to move to the next menue the player turned its self off completely and then back on. It took like 5 to 10minutes for it to load the disk too. I tried several more times with the same result each time. I never did get it past the setup to see if the movie would play. All my other movies have worked fine up to this point (none of the others on your list though).

I'm going to update the firmware to v3.7 to see if it fixes the problem or not.
