Problem with mine is, that all the security sh*t had to be removed so that I could check the item over properly, so I don't know if my local HMV will even accept it as a return or an exchange. I've never had to return anything to HMV before.

Add to that, the real icing on the cake is, that I have just checked over all the undersides of the discs, and noticed that the Extended Edition disc, the whole reason to buy these boxsets, is scratched to hell!

NOTE TO WB:
Check your items before sending them out!!!

Going to try and return it tomorrow between my double work shifts. There had better not be any problems!

So I just bought the HP1 Ultimate Edition in my local HMV, and it's going back tomorrow.

First off, the outer slipcase is scuffed up beyond all recognition (didn't notice until I had got home). Secondly, my set had the Snape and Minerva cards instead of the Harry and Minerva cards. And finally, the stupid sticky security band thing that HMV uses instore, has torn the slipcase a little bit at the bottom on the front.

Not off to a good start with my HP purchases from HMV!
The cards ARE mixed up in all of them. Snape and Minerva are in PS and Harry comes in CoS.

So... Can anyone tell me which cards come with each boxset?

I would really appreciate it!

Thank you

How many times is going to take before studio's realise that if they want £60 from me to buy their products again on a new format, then they are going to have to give me a damn good reason to, and this boxset does not on any level.

It's just getting to the point where I am fed up with being ripped off in the UK (and I know I am when I check the specs on the US and other countries discs), so Come on Warners, it's not like this franchise didn't make much!

Sigh
, you do realise that complaining on here about WBUK's bizarre business practices won't make WBUK care, right? Complaining to WBUK directly, however, may well reap dividends. Have any of you tried getting in touch with WBUK? Do you need contact details for WBUK?

Please, don't be put off the idea of complaining directly to WBUK because of the depressing eagerness to lap up any old crap that WBUK dishes out as seemingly evidenced by this thread. The UK Home Entertainment market is huge. And the UK Home Video market is a market that's far too important to the Majors for them to risk upsetting a (perceived) significant minority of consumers within it -- the issue here is that if (virtually) no one complains (to the right people), the perception that is created is that nothing needs to change.

Moreover, please be aware that out of all the US Majors, it's WB (via their UK operation) who have consistently shown themselves to be a cut above when it comes to customer care; WBUK have on many occasions shown a willingness to address consumer complaints, a willingness that's virtually unmatched by the other American Majors. So, if there's going to be an issue with a UK BD release, then you want to hope and pray that it's a WB title, because WBUK are the most likely out of the US majors to fix the issue.

Yes, the power to make WBUK care is yours, people; the (power)ball is in your court, so just kick that damned ball!

Kuros is right... but I'm gonna moan in this thread anyway.

It's nice that some people are happy with these sets. That's grand for you. But what about those of us who do want the advantages the US set has? These are packaged to look exactly the same as those sets -- if I hadn't come on here before purchasing and seen all the complaints, I would have bought the UK versions assuming it was identical and been rather disappointed. At least use different packaging to indicate differing content. Or, even better, just copy the bloody discs.

Back when the US & UK sets worked out at about the same price this wouldn't've bugged me so much, but now that the UK ones can be had for below £14 and (I imagine) the US ones still come to £25+, and are presumably going OOP soon to boot, it rather grates.

So do I accept below-par UK content, or fork out ~£70 extra on imports, or wait goodness knows how much longer to see what they come up with next time round, whenever that may be?

Hm, maybe I will copy this into an email to WBUK after all!

Is the Half Blood Prince: Ultimate Edition missing a disc?

Due to a miscommunication, I received the basic 1-8 boxset for christmas, instead of the Ultimate Edition of Prisoner Of Azkaban, and on the back, I noticed that Half Blood Prince has 2 discs, where as the Ultimate Edition has 4.

Assuming that 1 disc is the blu-ray, 1 disc is the DVD, 1 disc is the DVD bonus features, and 1 disc is part 6 of the Creating documentary, doesn't this technically mean that it is missing the second disc from the basic edition of Half Blood Prince?

Whats the scoop on this enquiry?

The DVD Special Features are included but the Blu Ray Special Features Disc wasn't included. It didn't concern me as I have the standard editions as well as the ultimate editions. You can pick up the HBP DVD for under 5 quid on amazon.

So if I want all bonus features, I'd have to pick up the standard blu-ray release aswell? What a load of bulls**t!

Hmm, I think the special features might be the same and it would only be necessary if you wanted them on Blu-Ray (although, I doubt they're all in HD to begin with).

So, all the special features that are on the DVD disc in the HBP Ultimate Edition, are all on the 2 disc standard blu-ray, meaning that I wouldn't miss out on anything by not buying the standard 2 disc blu-ray release?

Please read my original post regarding the HBP Ultimate Edition again. You'd realise that, I don't have the movie on any format, and wanted to avoid getting the Ultimate Edition, and the standard 2-disc blu-ray release.

With the UK Ultimate Edition, it is apparently 4 discs (1 movie blu-ray, 1 movie DVD, 1 bonus features DVD, and 1 DVD for part 6 of the Creating documentary).

What I am trying to understand, is if the 2nd disc from the standard 2-disc blu-ray, has been left out of the Ultimate Edition, removing half the bonus features, or if the bonus features from the 2-disc blu-ray, were all just originally ported over from the 2-disc DVD or not, of which the 2-disc DVD set is basically in the Ultimate Edition.

As far as I can tell the bonus discs with the standard 2/3 disc DVD/BD are identical (so you're not missing out on anything by not having just the UE). The only things the US UE has unique to it are:

Quote:
"Creating the World of Harry Potter Part 6: Magical Effects" documentary (HD, 64 mins)
"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: Behind the Magic" TV special (SD, 47 mins)
5 Interstitials (SD, 5 minutes in total):
-The Story
-Love is in the Air
-Meet Professor Slughorn
-The Story of Tom Riddle
-Comedy
4 Theatrical Trailers (HD, 8 mins in total)
Assuming the "Creating the World of Harry Potter Part 6: Magical Effects" is on a separate disc (is that a BD or DVD?) with the UK UE. If the extra disc with the UK UE is a copy of the bonus disc of the standard 2/3 disc DVD/BD you'd miss out on is "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: Behind the Magic," the 5 Interstitials which were both in SD on the US UE BD and 4 HD trailers.

So you still need to find out what's on the UK UE edition. I think someone in the 'Christmas Haul' thread posted pictures of the set it's time for a PM asking for a scan of the back cover!

Chamber Of Secrets, Prisoner Of Azkaban, Goblet Of Fire, and Order Of The Phoenix are £17.99 each at base.com at the moment.

Philosopher's Stone and Half Blood Prince haven't been reduced.

Most of them have been £13.49 or £13.99 on MovieMail for a while now, though Philosopher's Stone and Half-Blood Prince went up to around £29 recently -- wonder what it is about those two?

Could someone tell me if the amount of special features the UK sets have is the same as what the US sets had?

Specifically, I'm interested in if the Behind the Magic ITV documentaries made it onto our sets... They should be on Goblet of Fire onwards. Could anyone look at their copy for me please?

I still haven't received my copy of Goblet of Fire, but they ARE in Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince, so I think it's safe to assume the GoF special also made it

They also included the Focus Points in OotP and the Picture in Picture feature in HBP.

By the way, I now have PS, CoS, OotP and HBP. I'm waiting for my GoF copy to arrive and I will be buying PoA when the price drops somewhere.

I am EXTREMELY happy with the sets, they are just GORGEOUS

I've only got PS, CoS and PoA so far.

GoF and OoTP are in the post. Will get HBP when it drops in price. Paid £13.49 each for GoF and OoTP from MovieMail.
