beautiful cover. In fact, far too beautiful to be real most likely like another member pointed out. Just look at The Lion King art work

I actually prefer that cover. Covers lately are too splashed with "Blu-Ray+DVD" labels among other things all over the place. And that's without them stickers attached. Obviously we won't be getting that for a North American release. I don't even like 10th Anniversary DVD cover.

But still it gave the film an interesting look at times. (lion king and Hunchback - saw it 4 times) was the same way in my memory)
I know what you mean. I feel like we found those qualities by accident, watching these from film prints. Seeing all these classics now grainless (like Beauty and the Beast, being digital to begin with) doesn't look as good as it did on film, like it lost detail.

Sometimes I wish they added a "grain" effect just to keep it digital while looking like a film at the same time.

Sadly grain is being viewed as a "flaw" in recent releases, they'd remove them with DNR's. Titanic is a victim of that, now that it's going 3D ...

it's not missing anything it terms of detail though

I get what you mean. if i'm not mistaken, that's what Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki did for Ponyo (and for other titles maybe??). They added artificial film grain.

Cover art for the 1 Disc Australian release

http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/d...blu-ray/263154

Also, If other countries are getting each movie separately then the cover posted a few posts back might be real because it's the same as the Australian cover art for the DVD released the same day http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/d...edition/233306

I hope we won't be forced to buy both again, like with Fox & The Hound. Disney Cheapquels should NOT be released on Blu-Ray.

Wouldn't bother me, I honestly enjoyed the sequel and would watch if it it comes with the first film.

Same here, I won't be complaining if I get two movies for the price of one.

Absolutely agree.

1. Where is John Smith?
2. Why does Pocahontas look weird in the middle?
3. Why is there another Pocahontas in the cover?

and I wouldn't mind getting the sequel with it, I just hope they keep it in another disk. Wouldn't want anything to hinder the quality of Pocahontas.

I hope we get it separately over here. I hate Pocahontas 2.

And the cover is NOT good.

I wish we were given an optional release aimed at Disney collectors and not moms looking for the cheapest deal to shut their kids up even longer by having two movies on one disc, but alas, Disney has has finally set in stone the fact that they don't care about the likes of us anymore. The average person won't care and think it's a great deal, and that's fine for them, but for those of us who respect the original movies and despise what the cheap (not even animated at WDAS) sequels/prequels/midquels did to the company's reputation...it's pretty damn sad.

in Greece the release schedule is

Pocahontas 1 23 April
Pocahontas 2 23 April

it seems we are getting the original Fox and the Hound as a standalone release as well. so I hope we get individual releases.

I never liked the second film, even as a child. Now I hate it. they created the whole first film to show you how painful their seperation was and how deeply in love they were and in the second one she leaves him and she just picks the same guy with a different wig

Someone needs to be shot for approving that cover. Don't even get me started on thinking the cheapquel is worthy of a release.

Looks like they started with the poster, but then gave Pocahontas' face the same look as the Australian cover and used a different Meeko. Why they ruined the poster, I don't know.

That is the same image I posted in the theatrical release thread in 1995 when I was 16 years old. That's a much larger image though. I like it, yes.
