Default Anyone annoyed by HD DVD zealots posting FUD/spam on this site?

I mean think about it, I remember a few days ago on Wed. this comment at the bottom of this page by some guy named DonRWatters. How many of you are annoyed by comments like this on this website, where even talking anything positive about HD and bashing BD at the same time or just bashing BD can put you in a death sentence? Let me know what you think.

I reported a post a few days ago, where someone here called BD fans a**holes. The last time I checked, nothing had been done.

This is the type of guy that will then go to another forum and say "I got banned without even posting anything!" and link to his profile which doesn't show news feedback posts, only forum posts.

Let them carry on. I do not object to them making comments like that. They are only doing damage to their own views.

It shows the demographic which finds HD-DVD popular... specifically the lower orders of society!!!

I think he was mocking HD DVD fans with a humourous example of the positive spin they might respond with. The winky smilie and his post history on other forums would appear to increase this probability.

In this case I don't think any further action needs to be taken.

I agree, I remember reading the post...

It seems to be taken down now though. too bad. Kinda defeats the whole "Post whatever you want" thing if you know what i mean.

I think that the mods do a great job watching over the site. If you reported this to them as others have mentioned to do and they have looked into it, know the right thing will be done.

letting the mods know is the best course of action... although I wouldn't worry about trolls, at this point, their bark is worse than their bite...

Aside from obvious trolling the most annoying and insidious thing is trying to discuss movies that are only currently scheduled to be released on HD DVD. It's amazing the level of posts we get about certain Paramount and Universal movies. I find it very suspicious frankly. If I wanted to discuss Cloverfield I'd go to a different forum. Some people don't keep up with what studio releases what movie but we almost never see the same level of discussions for upcoming Sony or Disney releases.

I've actually seen VERY little trolling and spamming for the most part in the last couple of weeks, most of the bitterness and anger has burned out, and a lot of the Red supporters have jumped or given up. The last remaining holdouts still hang around on HDD... not sure but is AVS still loaded with red ants, or are they cleaned up now?

I mean of course they're bitter they're new releases suck, they're losing studios, they're losing B & M and soon they will have lost they're investments.

Wouldn't you be mad at the world to for being such a dumb f-- ??

Just wait until the sales spike because of that spectacular SB HD DVD ad... and then it will just wait until Beowolf reinvigorates the market... then wait until....

It's always shoulda, coulda, woulda with HD DVD and their diehards. It's best just to ignore them at this point. Sooner or later they will either have to go BD or be stuck crapola HD downloads.

Toshiba still falsely believes that they can convince a large majority of BD owners to buy the format for titles from just two studios. Sorry not happening. If Universal and Paramount want my green, then they have to do blu!

Right, he was joking.
I think this site is actually pretty open and forgiving though from what I've seen. Of course, it's darn hard to come up with any reasonable argument for HD DVD, so real trollers just end up looking foolish.

To be honest, the reason I cannot stand HD DVD is cause of the way their backers have posted. It is beyond ridiculous. I cannot stand the lying and false rumors that they post. Even now, the people that continue to say that Disney is going neutral. A very happy day will come for me when some of these idiots that have run their mouth that own over 150 HD DVD movies have to look at their players and say "Damn, I picked the wrong format."
