Default The Ultimate HT settings

I have gone absolutely crazy the last few weeks reading up on this board and avsforum about what tv,receiver, speakers, etc. to buy. I am going into complete overload any second and thought to myself, everyone has their own preference. I have a tight budget and a limited space in my living room for a home theater and am sort of wondering if I should waste my money. With that said, this is what I would like to get and I feel its a great setup and think I will be set up for the distant to near future.

Will be purchasing a 46" samsung with 120HZ OR the Sony xbr4 (debating)

Will be buying the Onkyo 705. Prefered the 605 because of price but the overwhelming input is get the 705 for the extra money as it will be more functional down the road.

Have the PS3 and will use it primarily as a blu-ray player with the exception of the Show 08 and GT5.

Have the xbox360 and use that for COD4 and will certainly use it for Sports and GTA:4

With that said, purchasing those two items would make my home theater a kick ass setup, right?

Speakers? what do I need those for?
I have some 3 year old Infinity speakers that worked awesome with my old school panasonic receiver.

Make sure you have a rock solid subwoofer as the foundation to your system, and you'll have a great setup.

a little off topic but why did you choose to get gta4 on 360 and not ps3? seeing how this is not your first time playing it( right?) that means you played all the others on playstation. so why the change of heart?

yea, on top of that, the 360 version run alot smoother and look better too, on many games. (i don't care that much because i rent game, not buy) Developpers should learn to use the ps3 power better.

The last 2 answers basically was the reasoning for chossing GTA on 360. I am primarily going to use the 360 for gaming except the Show 08. Sports to this date have run better on 360 and the downloadable content is huge. Xbox live rocks while I feel the psn blows, again to this date.

Well i actually think it will run better on PS3 as it will probably make a big (read takes 20 minutes to do) save file like DMC4 so loading times will be (slightly) quicker

As for whether it runs better on PSN or XBOX live that doesnt really matter there is EXCLUSiVE downloadable content for 360 as M$ waved their wallets about again so 360 all the way for me
