Good stuff - another retailer sees the writing on the wall.

It just shows you how badly HD DVD is getting pwned outside of the US.

The guy brags because we was VP of the debate society in college.

My reply would be that I was too busy drinking beer and getting laid in college to debate

He needs someone to pull his dork card.

i have a feeling this would be what completely destroys HD DVD in Europe. Studios will drop HD DVD like the plague as no retailers will be purchasing them. Wait til a big one like Studio Canal drops HD DVD.

Currys Digital is the only place I have ever seen a HD-DVD player. It was a sad and forlorn site sitting there unwanted. It looked a very cheap piece of equipment indeed. Nothing to compare with a Sony BDP at all.

No one was buying them

Would this be the same Currys that had SWAT on BD running in 480p as the staff are morons?

Probably not... all these stores are the same.

What was really unforgivable... A while ago the Sony Centre up here was demonstrating BD on a 32" at the front of the store (1366 x 768 display). At the back of the store was the 46X (full 1080P set) displaying SD... not only SD but 4:3 SD zoomed out to fill the screen... I ask you Things have improved massively.... maybe somebody from Sony read my post all them months back and kicked somebody up the Ar**.

No, I assure you that the staff in the Belfast City Center branch are morons. Probably certified as such. Wanna cause confusion? Just mention NTSC...

I never bother asking questions of in store staff... I do my own research before buying. Some of the crap they come out with beggers belief. Even Sky installers are the same... I was told that Sky HD wouldn't work on composite connections when I set it up on my old TV.

The thing that really rubs me up the wrong way is the way they tell you, as though they are the oracles at the temple of technology. It's that self satisfied smug expression (you know the one) which really makes me want to carry a brick in my bag ... especially when what they smugly tell you is a load of cobblers
