Problems - Blu-ray Forum

i am having some problems, i have a ps3 and when i watch a blue ray dvd it will randomly just freeze for like 30 seconds, and then it will start playing again. also i am haveing a problem where the entire screen of my tv will just go black fot about 5 seconds, the movie or game is still going i just cant see it. so i was wondering if any one else might be have had such problems and what i should do.

Freeze-up could be one of many things, including bad hardware. Eliminate all hardware possibility first.

Try putting the PS3 where ventilation is possible and the air is not hot. Putting it upright might work in venting the heat as well.

Maybe this thread on page 2, PS3 pausing during playback: Possible temporary solution found, might help you with the freezing problem.

The TV going black while the game still runs sounds incredibly similar to a problen with Westinhouse LCDs . Check the Popular Mechanics links. They have a Your Tube video of a similar intermitent blacking. Their solution was to unplug the cable and replug it. (or maybe turning the TV off/on or switching imputs might work?)
