sarcasm begins: Lies all lies I tell you!

Doesn't anyone understand that the sign of a consoles success is it's UNAVAILIBILITY everywhere! Meeting projected sales figures and shipments so that stores are constantly stocked is a sure sign of failure and the PS3 and Sony have failed!

Blah - blah - blah (add M$/HD-DUD FUD here). ...End sarcasm.

(thanks for the link HDTV - wondering what was up with the projections... good to hear they're still on course)

Nice post. Just to add...

4 million PS3s Shipped, 2 million sold...

http://www.vgcharts.org/news/news.php?id=111

Looks pretty decent, especially with the pending launch in Europe which is sure to gobble up some of those 2 million shipped.

2 million more in two months seems pretty plausible for me. And besides, Sony has a HUGE launch they can rely on.

I think it is impressive that the PS3 can stay that close to the Wii and it hasn't even launched outside of the United States and Japan yet AND it cost $2-350 more dollars.

Early numbers look good, considering I expect alot of people are waiting on some form of price drop before they get a PS3 so expect the numbers to climb steadily for years.

Quite good.

3 million out of 6 million by March 31st (number of units sold/number of units produced).

50% is okay although I would be even happier if they sold 4.5 million or at least 5 million (75%-80% or so)

But 50% is good.

That post was sarcasm (in case you didn't know)

Maybe in the future we should post sarcasm detectors/tags here

Jorg:

It was sarcasm - I love the ps3 and I know it's doing great (read my posts elsewhere on this forum)... just repeating a lot of the mindless nonsense Sony haters do.

The only bad thing about owning a ps3 for me is that it reminds me what a waste of $400+ (except for a few good games) the 360 was... it now sits on my entertainment center virtually untouched since last november.

I'll edit my other post to add clear sarcasm markers

Default just thought this was interesting

approximately a week ago at my local best buy i saw 10 ps3s sitting on the display area. yesterday (saturday) i went in to buy a bluetooth bd remote for the ps3. i noticed that there was only one 60gb ps3 sitting there so i asked one of the salespeople if it was the last one. she said it was the last one.

does this mean the ps3 is selling as good as expected?

sales must probably be picking or.........more games are being released that would interest the public.

Sure not and will never thought anymore any single person to buy any single HD-DVD ,HD_DVD is OVER just they are waiting the time to pronounce it and declare we have lost the war.Microsoft declare the war by themeselves declaring that Blu-ray is like betamax but they need to refresh their mind that blu-ray is not supported only by Sony as it was formerly supported by Sony.it is BDA and us here as blu-ray camp who is supporting BD and have belief that it is the only high definition title to go and rely on.

Blu-ray in january was surpassing by a ratio 2:1 but what about february and march including Departed and the coming release of Casino Royale which is a smashing title and entering the guiness book for sales record the only high definition which break records.

In fact, I don't care anymore about HD DVD. Why worry? BD already is a giant compared to HD DVD, always has been! BD surpasses HD DVD on every market now and the gap is widening...
