Will The Hunger Games make it four weekends in-a-row as box office champion? Can Lionsgate land the 1-2 punch with The Hunger Games and The Cabin in the Woods? Maybe you think the Three Stooges will find box office riches? Make your opinion count and prove your box office savy

I've got a feeling Three Stooges will be a huge flop, it'll be a miracle if that one manages to hit the top 5 (or strong karma if it rightfully flops)
![]() I think it's a toss up between Lockout and Cabin in the Woods. The Hunger Games is going to die down this week very quickly, everyone who's wanted to see it has seen it now, everyone who didn't want to see it has seen it now, and everyone who's wanted to see it two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten times have done so by now. Lockout has the PG-13 rating going for it, and Cabin in the Woods has the slightly bigger theatre count going for it, plus positive word of mouth, and a name attached to it that is also in charge of a rather big film coming out in three weeks time ![]() Personally, I think Cabin in the Woods will take it, it depends on how willing American audience will be able to take the slightly daft premises, and Lockout will be close behind. But this is an odd weekend to say the least ![]() |

Oh I had forgotten Lockout is coming out this weekend, Pie may actually finish 5th. Yi, the Titanic is about to sink bad, now I'm starting to doubt it will even reach $40 million domestically this time around.

I can see Hunger Games for sure win out this week by the slimmest of margins. Then after that it could be interesting, as the weekend after that I don't see a thing on the radar at all all. Then the final weekend of April it would probably then see it's downfall to say the comedy "The 5 Year Engagement" or perhaps "The Raven" depending on the reviews of those films. It probably would end up in 3rd just ahead of "Safe". After that you hit the true start of the blockbusters with The Avengers the start of May, only there will it finally lose any legs and pull in sub $5 million weeks is my guess.

I wouldn't count Cabin in The Woods out of the running for the number 1 spot. It's getting a lot of TV and Radio advertising and it seems to be a trending topic on other websites, so I would expect that since THG will have another drop off in viewership, it could very well win the weekend. Lockout is up in the air. I either see it in the 6 to 8 slot. Why? These types of films just haven't done well in one jolt and Guy has never been a box office draw. I hope it does better and gives Guy and much deserved boost.
Titanic will hang around and slowly make its money, like it did before. Don't forget next week is the 100th anniversary and nerds like me are going to go see it on the 14th and/or 15th to commemorate the event. |
