Default How will you spend you upcoming $600 government refund?

Simple question really: How many of you will spend part or all of your upcoming $600 government refunds on Blu-ray related items, be it players, a PS3 or movies? Of course this only applies to U.S. residents.

I think the Warner announcement last week will have an effect on that money...

It is a screwed up concept.

If you got a tax refund last year, you get $300. $600 if you are married and $300 for every kid.

If you paid taxes last year, you get $600 and $1200 if you are married plus $300 for every kid.

It will come out of your future taxes, so I won't even bother with it.

Or I will stick it in a cd or savings account. F*** YOU BUSH!!

Why are people getting $600 refunds on Blu related items?

Re-read the original post. He means how many of us will spend our forthcoming tax rebate on personal purchases, like Blu-related items.

In case you haven't been watching the news for the last few weeks (or if you're not a US citizen), an economic stimulus package just went into effect where most Americans will receive a $600 tax rebate by mail. The process starts in May and will continue through the summer. Some will get more. Others will get less. But $600 is about the average.

We're getting $2100 ($1200 per married couple, and $300 per child), which will go into our savings. We're in the early stages of building a new home and any extra money will be saved to buy new furniture, decor, electronics, etc. Every little bit helps!

I'm spending my tax return in Las Vegas and the World Finals Monster Jam.

Then a little towards a Hi-Def television for my pops.

No refund here, I paid too many taxes to qualify for one.

Oh I was going to say, I have never heard of taxes for just buying a playstation 3 or a blu ray player.

Of course someone had to bring politics into it. And I assume our Congress has nothing to do with this, either? Everything's the presidents fault, right?

I'll be spending mine, since that's the whole point. I'll certainly be "stimulating" the consumer electronics economy.

If your going to spend it, it would be best spent on "American Products". It is meant to regenerate our economy not foreign economies.
