What's a good scary game for the PS3? - Blu-ray Forum

Something that'll give you genuine suspense, with good surround sound (a la Resistance) and great graphics. I don't know much about games, I just picked up my first one this past weekend, hence me asking here on these forums. Merely looking at available titles wasn't helping me too much, so I figured I'd ask you 'experts' at this here forum. An FPS, preferably - there was this one called F.E.A.R.? How is that?

Have you played Half Life 2? I'd say the Ravenholm levels are pretty freakin scary, especially if you're playing at night. And filled with suspense throughout the rest too.

I haven't played a single PS3 game outside of Resistance...and like I said, that's just since this weekend. The last game I played before that was uhhh...Goldeneye. Seriously.

Jericho is pretty freaky when I played it, and i had the volume loud too. Think Target put it on Clearance.

i don't know of any scary ps3 games. ps1 and ps2 there are a few :dunno:

I don't think there are any scary game out yet, I'm waiting for silent hill or resident evil... anyone else hope they redo Resident Evil 1?

FEAR for PS3 probably isn't even worth renting -- serious frame rate issues make it very annoying to play.

I second the suggestion of Orange Box (got it out on rental ATM). Half-Life 2 looks a bit dated and graphically not so next-gen anymore but there's very strong writing, suspense and some scares.

A lot of people thought F.E.A.R. (on the PC) was one of the scariest games they've played so that's probably near the top of the list of the current releases. I was kind of indifferent about it (played it on a PC). I had high hopes for Jericho since it's really twisted and by Clive Barker but the demo didn't seem very scary to me. I haven't purchased the full-game yet so I'm not sure if the full-game is better in that regard or not.

Try the original Fatal Frame....

While it's only a PS2 game, it is one of the scariest games I've played.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is well worth playing through for the 'scary' bit near the end.

For scary, the scariest games on the PS3 right now are:

Clive Barker's Jericho and F.E.A.R.

For more edge-of-your-seat scary, you should keep an eye on the upcoming Resident Evil 5 and Imakibisou.

Still got the PS2 on the entertainment stand (I failed to include Madden, played from Madden 02 to 06), so it is of no concern - I might pick some of these up.

I personally thought F.E.A.R was pretty scary, help to that the game playes in 5.1 DTS surround Sound which i have always rated over Dolby Digial 5.1.
