Default Not impressed with PQ on my Warner titles

About two weeks ago I was mailed three of my free movies with the Blu-ray player that was purchased. Two of these (which I selected) were Warner titles and I find both of them to be rather poor Blu-ray discs. (The movies are Superman Returns and TMNT.)
The first thing that struck me as strange was that the movie played right away without going to a menu system. I personally prefer viewing the menu to set up the audio track if there is a better audio track to select than the default. Then when I actually pressed the button on my remote to view the menu system, it was completely cluttered with all the selections in the disc on one screen.
The other movie was the same way. Why would they choose to do this? It seems like they weren't thoroughly planned out.

Other than minor technical issues about the disc itself, which I could forgive; in both movies I have noticed what I have read others refer to as "color banding." The best way for me to describe this is that it looks like the difference in color bit depths. Or actually, just look up at the top of the Blu-ray forum at the banner and see how the colors don't blend together, it looks exactly like that.
I noticed this at the beginning of TMNT in the sky, and in the underwater scenes in Superman Returns.

Is this the way that all Warner titles are, or just these two?

all Warner titles go straight to the movie but not all have color banding.

Well there's a lot of Warner title with color Banding....

But not all of them have it

Btw TMNT was made to fit on a DVD15... the movie takes less than 12gigs.. But you should see the DVD... it's on a DVD SL... LOL worst PQ ever! even Cable is better!

every warner title that I have starts the movie right away as well. I dont know why they do that but it doesnt really bug me. I suppose if I pop a movie in an leave, I can always jump back a couple scenes to the beginning. Is it really that big of an issue?

Not big enough to stop me from buying WB titles, but I do find it somewhat bothersome.

Of course it's not that big of an issue, as I already stated that I can deal with it. I just cared more about the color banding issue, which I am glad to hear is not a problem on all Warner releases.

I like having it go straight to the movie, can always just change my audio settings through my remote.

I can't speak for TMNT but Superman Returns is a rather bad looking disc when comparing it to other Blu-rays, but when comparing it to the Superman Returns DVD you can fully appreciate the PQ of the Blu-Ray. The DVD could be the worst disc, PQ wise, I've bought in years.

All warner titles are play right away, like all disney titles and loads of previews before the movie that you can't skip all. (You can skip them by press >| one by one though).

And for PQ, I can only hope that after warner ditch HDDVD completely, they wont have to compromise PQ to fit HDDDVD standard.
