I'm really looking forward to this one. I love offbeat comedies and Carell and Knightley make for an intriguing pairing.

I'd like to see this. It looks good from the trailer. Plus Keira Knightley is in it.

Heh, that's kinda one of the reasons I saw it. But it's a good movie. Especially if you were on a date.

Shame this did pretty bad. I think it will end up being a rather remembered cult-type kinda film. I really think a lot of people in the theater thought this was gonna have a very different ending which I cannot believe.

I'm not sure I saw a single commercial for this on tv. It was not marketed very heavily. I'm not surprised it didnt do much.

Still, I enjoyed it. Not a GREAT movie, but good.

I loved the way it ended. I would have been pissed if they ended it differently.

I've seen a good amount of commercials for it. I'll try and see this during the week.

Bombed? Wow, people love to throw that word around huh? Sure it didn't do well but that's cause it was only on 1,000 some theaters. Mixed with a couple other reasons.

I love how people test the quality of a film by its box office, rather then the movie itself.

Plus, a Pixar movie came out on the same day. Hopefully it'll gain some legs and perform as expected, or better.

Saw it on Sunday, I liked it. Steve Carrell was perfectly cast, but Keira Knightley doesn't do anything for me, too much pouting.

This is going to be really hard for me to try and see now. I don't think I'll be able to and coming this weekend the theater near me is only going to have 2 showings for this...

I saw this on Monday afternoon. Easily one of the best movies I've seen this year. I got choked up a couple of times.
[Show spoiler]The first being when Penny was talking to her family on the phone and the second being the conversation they were having at the end of the movie as you heard the world ending.

People were complaining about the ending as they were exiting the theater but I thought it fit pretty well into the tone of the movie.
[Show spoiler]Actually showing the end of the world instead of just letting us hear it would have ruined the tone of the movie, IMO.

I agree with you. People in my theater were complaining for a different reason. They wanted
[Show spoiler]the world to not end.... like the asteroid misses Earth or something. But that would have been a complete cop-out, and I'm really glad they didnt go that way.

Although.... if that happened like halfway through the movie, it would have been interesting to explore
[Show spoiler]how people now had to deal with the repercussions of all the things they did when they thought the world was ending - dumping people, hooking up with others, free love, drugs, giving up possessions, etc...
