Can you share which films have Commentaries? Some Like it hot has, and DVDBeaver reports that Seven year itch also has. Thank you and enjoy the set!

No cardboard slots. Just two standard cases in a slipcase. Also includes a collectable booklet. Works out to be only $6.85 AUD per movie

Hmmm, that's pretty tempting, especially since I don't think the US release will go down in price at all on Amazon right now since nobody has it advertised in their ad for next week.

One question about the packaging though... Is that big ratings logo in the bottom left corner printed on or is it a sticker that comes off?

Foxconnect, the 20th century fox official store, continues to have at $64.99 and has a once a year 10% off coupon. There is no excuse for amazon's current pricing. Several of us have notified them of fox's price.

The excuse is that Foxconnect isn't competition enough... only major retailers.

Unfortunately yes. We have the worst ratings logos here downunder.
Just one of the many reasons I purchase most of my BD's from overseas.

I just ordered the discs seperately as I prefer individual packaging. I'm very thankful that the studio also chose this route alongside the box set. You Tube has a few clips of what the Blu-rays look like and they look better than I expected and that's on You Tube.

So do we not get the content from the DVD boxset Marilyn The Final Days on one of the Blurays? Its worth it IMO just for the footage of her skinny dipping in the pool.

I think I prefer the individual cases. Too bad those aren't offered with a standard box to fit them. I may just pick up The Seven year Itch and maybe get this set at a bargain down the road. Not that much of a musical fan. With The Universal Monsters Set, 50 Years of Bond, The Hitchcock Set, Indy set, ET & Jaws there are just too many titles coming out.

I would keep that if I had it as well. Is that available separately? If so I may pick that up. However, this set really excites me because I have never seen a Marilyn film. In full, at least anyway.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I missed the sale. I was in a hurry since I was on here before work and missed the fact that it was only going until 9 PM.

I don't know if it was ever sold seperate. It still is in some of the DVD sets. I see various sellers advertiising as having it seperate on amazon, some claiming new.

Default There's No Business Like Show Business

Watched There's No Business Like Show Business in it's entirity today and must say - I was impressed.
Although the picture quality ranged from fair (very grainy and low res) to very good (medium grain and excellent detail), the screen was always filled with great colour.
The transfer seemed a bit "wide" right through, though not distractingly so.
The AQ was very good with a surprising amount of "oomph" on the many musical numbers.
The highlight for me was Donald O'Conners "dancing around the fountain" number, but apart from a few super corny Merman/Daily scenes, the rest of the film was entertaining.
Extras are only trailers (same as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes).
PQ: 3/5 to 4/5
AQ: 4/5 (age of film taken into consideration).

They are a "bit wide" because they're in the original CinemaScope 2.55 ratio which is a bit wider than the modern 2.39 or the late 50's/60's 2.35

Hi. When I say a "bit wide", I am allowing for the fact that it was shot in a 2.55:1 aspect ratio.
Within that, there is a "stretched" look that is not proportional and makes faces (especially), look wider than they should.
