Stunning, stunning, even the Ninpo spells now look stunning!

Team Ninja code to the metal and boy does it show.

"What we're doing is providing you a game at 60 frames, but the visuals aren't going to be beaten by other games running at 30 frames."

Isn't 720p the minimum resolution that all games must support? It'd be nice if this game supports 1080i (or 1080p for that matter).

No 1080p = NO SALE

Come on this is a second gen game already. This time, there is NO excuse for skipping out on 1080p support.

And I mean official support and not just some TV upscaler doing all the work.

Most ridiculous reason not buy a game only second to not buying F1 because it has no BT headset support.

I will surely be enjoying this game in 720p with a rock solid frame rate(which is what counts in an action game)

Besides I would call a game coming out this soon a "second gen" game.

1080p is not the be all and end all in gaming, I consider Goldeneye to be one of the best games, even today, around and that is nowhere near 1080p, it is, in all of its 480i glory, awesome. 1080p would be cool for this game, but it is not a visual feast like FF games so it is not required.

Just give Tecmo some time with the PS3, I'm sure they'll come out with 1080p games in the future. I know what you mean, it looks frickin' awesome playing games in 1080p!

I doubt we'll be seeing many games with a 1080p render path. Even the PS3 is not likely to be powerful enough to do crazy things in 1080p.

I agree. 1080p is really a luxury and really cant be maintained with 60fps on these next gen games. I would rather see 720p and 60 fps personally.

- Still talking to Sony about what the possibilities are for downloadable content
- Karma ranking system/online leader boards will be intact

Well that was quick..

"Tecmo said that it has just recently managed to implement full 1080p support into the game, and at a full 60fps to boot. Yes, this is one slick-looking title."

Head over to gametrailers and make sure you watch all the HD trailers..we never picked this up for our Xbox..but this is looking just too good to pass on.

"One secret Tecmo let slip is certain to get Ninja Gaiden fans pumped for Sigma. Early on in Ninja Gaiden, Ryu's village is being attacked by the evil Doku. A beautiful CG cut-scene shows Ryu battle against Doku and lose badly. In Ninja Gaiden Sigma that CG cut-scene is gone. It's no longer necessary -- because now you get to fight that battle!"

Crazy developers And this early after the console launched..surely they haven't learned all there is too learn.

Now it's still possible they will cut it back depending on QA.. but it's not a matter of if 1080p on the PS3 just when..most of the quality developers will clean up by making the jump since their titles will just stand out..all other things being in place as well of course..good game, good story ...but that's also the case at 720p as well.

The game looks great and it's a must have for all anyone who hasn't played Ninja Gaiden.

I've played the original Ninja Gaiden and it was great one of the best games. I've played. Honest, I feel Tecmo is like a Movie Studio releasing the same thing over and over.

Ninja Gaiden = Standard DVD
Ninja Gaiden Black = Two Disc Dvd Edition
Ninja Gaiden Sigma = Ultimate DVD Edition

Don't get me wrong there are a lot of add-ons, some extra chapters but it's the same story.

Why can't we make a brand new game, new story, all new levels, I’ll by it in a heartbeat. But with the same story, I'm not sure if i want to pick this up, if I do it will be when it's a lot cheaper.
Once again, don't get me wrong, anyone who has not played this game I believe it will be worth every penny.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Yeah, I had sold my original XBox before this one came out, so I'll be buying this one immediately.

I know what you mean though MasterXeus. I guess I'd have to say that it would really depend on which game was getting the make-over treatment for me. If it was one fo my forever favorites, I might just buy it for an updated graphics system.

You'll love it and I could buy too but I'm not because I personally feel like I'm going to buying the same game again with just a lot of add-ons and better graphics. I just think Tecmo is taking the easy way, they're just re-release an old game with new graphics, a couple of new chapters, etc... They could have made a brand new Ninja Gaiden game for the PS3 only, but they're not.

I can see it now two year from now Tecmo release Ninja Gaiden Ultimate. Same game but we add 4 new chapters, new enemies, new bosses, 5 new playable characters, 8 new outfits.

So back to my question, am I the only that feels Tecmo is taking the easy way?

Ninja Gaiden is now set for Japanese release on the 14th of June, with a US release later that month according to 1UP.

But.. don't get yourself too excited...!

DEMO!

A demo will be released on the PlayStation Store on April 27th with different levels to the full game and an online ranking system. It may only be the Japanese PSStore on that date but we've all got JP accounts setup.. right.

If you're not already frothing at the mouth, this video preview from 1UP should do the trick. They also have two 60FPS 720p vids but they're not all that great of a quality and still need a beastly PC or GPU vid acceleration to play smoothly.
