Default Spielberg Movies On Blu. When?

How long until we see Spielberg movies on Blu? He is a Blu ray supporter and with Uni's announcement,do you think we will see any of his movies this year?

We already have Close Encounters...I'd wager more will be announced soon. Especially the Indiana Jones films. But most of Spielberg's titles are on Universal, so it's up to them.

Spielberg's movies will be released on Blu-ray slowly in piece-meal style. Hopefully the process won't be so dragged out over years and years the way it was with DVD.

The 30th Anniversary Edition of Close Encounters of the Third Kind is a good start. It's anyone's guess which Spielberg films will be next to appear on Blu-ray.

The Indiana Jones movies would seem likely as Blu-ray releases for this fall, given they could tie in with the new Indy sequel.

It may not be very difficult to get some of Spielberg's more recent titles, such as Minority Report, onto Blu-ray as well.

I think some of his older, more popular titles may stay on a sort of "moratorium" status similar to classic Disney releases. The studios would just hold off releasing new collector's editions of them until the Blu-ray market grew to a large enough size.

I agree with that. Spielberg seems to be hands on most of his transfers. So currently he's kinda busy. But I expect Indy to be next.

I think Lucas was worse then Spielberg though. From everything I read Lucas 'leaned' BD but wouldn't allow his films to be released till a winner was clear. I just hope we don't have to put up with box sets from Lucas this time around.

word is CE3K sold poorly. i wouldn't expect his titles to appear until we reach a decent install base.

i'm more interested in his paramount/dreamworks titles anyway.
