I've watched all 3 discs in my Target Exclusive, and they play without problems. My Blu-ray player is relatively old as well (first gen Magnavox, Profile 1.1).

Got a problem with mine as well. I knew something was up. It happens right
[Show spoiler]after the cornucopia scene when she is getting water
and what have not. A bunch of skipping and audio out of sync.

The second disc is fine but the one with the main movie is the one giving me issues.

Got mine around 7 pm, they were only 3 left.
Mine is number 8,356, nice and low

Haven't checked to see if there's any problems with the disc yet.

Same issues with mine. It continued to play fine after I paused and continued again, but I had skipping and lost audio around the 1:12:something mark.

Exchanged it at Best Buy and I'm leaving this one sealed for now. I have the Target exclusive ordered and I think I like that packaging better anyway, so I'll either return the Best Buy version or save it and sell it down the road if the resell value rises.

With all this talk about the Best Buy version having bad discs, I'm just gonna return mine when it arrives and get the Target edition or just wait for a price drop on the standard edition. One question though, do you have to pay for shipping to return an item to Best Buy through the USPS or UPS? I'm asking because the only Best Buy near me closed in May so I would have to go through a mailing service.

You're VERY lucky -- the fact that the discs in the Best Buy cube are defective worked to your advantage. The odds were indeed in your favor!!!

Just return it to a Best Buy Store.

Look at what I said though. Only BB near me closed in May.

By the way, I probably won't be able to get it until Tuesday but I feel pretty confident the store will have some considering where I live, no one really cares about this stuff, as sad as it is to say. But it works to my advantage.

How is Best Buy sending it to you? If they're using USPS, then just write "Return to Sender" on the box.

If they're using UPS or FedEx, call the service center to let them know that you're aware that Best Buy's cube has a defective movie disc.

(You really don't have a Best Buy anywhere near you? Maybe within an hour's drive?)

Not sure on how they are sending it yet since it hasn't shipped but thanks for that advice. I called and the employee at the HQ I'm assuming said that a return slip will be in the box so I'm guessing should be able to just slap that on and hand it over with no charge.

As far as Best Buy being near me, nope. The closest one now is a little over an hour away. I hated it so bad when the one that was about 35 minutes away closed down during the "50 store closings" event.

They won't let you cancel it even though it hasn't shipped yet?

Nope. They told me it had been pulled from the warehouse and was being prepared for shipment.

After returning the second one to BB, I ran over to Target and picked up one of their 3 disc BD sets. I can confirm it works great!

I couldn't agree more. What a day of running around just trying to get one movie to play.

BTW, Even though technically you can only exchange open movies, BB had no issue giving me a refund after I explained it to them. I almost feel bad for those guys. They are going to have a very long day tomorrow.

Good thing I have both the Target and the Best Buy exclusive. My Target edition plays fine. I'll have to pop in the Best Buy one and see if it plays okay.
