Ok, after reading the last few pages here what I gotta say:

-I believe the transfer for the Halloween II CE is new. You would have to have a trained eye to notice the difference and you giys shouldn't complain if it was the 30th AE transfer since it does look good. Probably somebody has both the CE and the 30th AE and they can post a comparison.

-I'm actually suprised on the transfer for the TV Cut; it looks beautiful.

-Look like only 1 trailer for Halloween III, then. Which one is it; the teaser or the rare theatrical trailer (I'm guessin' the former)?

The transfer is the same. Additional clean up was done by Cliff.

Yep, same transfer but with addition clean up. Cliff went back in and digitally cleaned up the scratches and dirt on the existing master and tweaked the color in a few places.

Can we see some screen cap comparison shots? I'm just hoping it's not quite as grainy as the Universal release... and I'm not talking about film grain, I'm talking about pulsating grain in most of the blacks. I have an HDTV file on my DVR and it looks much better and cleaner than the Universal blu-ray with comparable detail.

Main reason I'm buying this release right there. The H2 transfer on the Universal release needed clean up. I don't like when companies think they can get away with not doing that. I don't even like it when Kino does that. But yes, I'm very happy that Cliff did that.

I guess I'm waiting for the official release date since I put in my pre-order at Amazon with free shipping. I think I can wait, although it would be interesting to see a review early for these releases.

Is the TV cut of Halloween 2 the theatrical version with the TV scenes added in? Or is it the actual cut they show on TV with the violence and language cut out?

It's the TV cut. Cut gore, nudity and in 1.33:1.

And if the main feature didn't have subs, I doubt the TV cut would.

Well, it is a supplemental feature, one that many of us never thought we'd see included. Frankly, I'm overjoyed that I'll even have the opportunity to see this version again, period. Two years ago Halloween 2 fans were pining for a special edition that most of us didn't think would ever come. It was depressing, and more than a little pathetic.

Then, boom, we get a Universal release featuring a superb transfer and -- get this -- Terror in the Aisles. Barely a year later, we get what promises to be an even more impressive release, with an original poster art option, long lost TV cut, commentary tracks, etc.

What's horrid about that?

And don't forget "The Nightmare Isn't Over" documentary thats roughly 45 minutes long, deleted scenes with optional commentary and Horror's Hallowed Grounds: The Locations of Halloween II featurette. Pretty stacked edition, if you ask me.

Oh those were included in the release?. I thought he meant the main feature was the tv cut.
