Default 2001 won't play in Samsung BD-P1200

We'll I've run into another disk issue. 2001 won't play in my BD-P1200. After I update the firmware it will play, but then after I shut it off and try to resume playing it won't load the disk.

I wish they would stop screwing with these blu-rays and just let me drop a disk in the way the old DVD player was. It's starting to become a headache to make sure you have the latest software to play your new movie.

Samsung doesn't have a clue what's wrong but doesn't mind charging me $160 to fix it. I would bet the next one does the same thing.

You may have a corrupted bookmark on the flash drive, which is preventing the disc from loading. Basically if it works the first time and didn't the 2nd time, then it's a corrupted bookmark on the memory. The only remedy is to flush out the flash memory (which isn't a good idea) or wait for the next firmware patch which will clean all old bookmarks.

That happened to me with "Weeds: Season 2". Corrupted bookmark. Couldn't play it a 2nd time (1st time worked perfectly). Waited for patch and now it works fine.

2001 won't play in Samsung BD-P1200

Are you talking about the movie 2001? Or is this the number of titles that just don't want to play on that machine?

OK. You need to make sure all firmware up-dates have been applied to your sammy. Should work then.

Ooops. I hate to say this but get in on the class action suit against Samsung and buy a new BD player. PS3 of Panny.

Really, thats all you can do to get rid of the headaches once and for all.

Default Thanks

I had missed all this going on some how. And to think I actually recommended it to a friend yesterday. Glad I had him get the ext service plan. Thanks, Samsung gets another call tomorrow with a little stronger tone.

Take Heed. Now. No service plan will help the 1200 mess. Have him return it right away. Its a POS player that he will never be happy with. Service plans do nothing. Have him take it back while he can.

NOW!

Says 1200? Let me put it this way. I have followed the 1200 thread and it has nothing but problems. My old Sony BD 30 never had any trouble playing any movie and that was with no firmware up-dates. the 1400 has a few issues also. Take it back period. Nothing more to say.
